Even though you said you don't have heat shield for the fuel tank, I still think you should cut those bolts flush with the nut. Just going off memory from when I did front diff pucks.
I might end up doing so if I need to. The threaded portion is only around .170" of protrusion from the nut. I think there will be clearance, but I'm going to rough mount the cradle with the alignment bushings in place before I cut anything. I'd rather leave them as is if I have the room. As my dad said when i was growing up "Clearance is clearance, Clarence".

If I remember correctly I put the bolts in so the heads were facing the gas tank

Yes that is the typical installation method for the kits. I went a different direction with mine, which is why I machined the black pucks down, went with a specific length bolt and a lower profile m14 nut. I think I'm pretty close to the same distance from subframe as the kits are (bolt head).
I wanted to do it this way, so if the diff needs removed at a later time, I should be able to do so by simply removing the half shafts and the 4 bolts.

That's the plus of doing it your way

that's sounds like a great idea. I checked my diff bushings and they look good. Even at high HP levels I guess not running slicks saves them to a certain degree. Did you replace both front and back?

But heads face the rear and nuts face the front, right?

Head to the front. OEM, they bolt from rear to front. The pull kits give you a bolt to attach the puck from rear to front.

This is my setup. Typically the heads of the bolt are reversed from what I've done if you go with an off the shelf kit.
Got it. Keep up the good work.

All of mine were showing some form of cracking. I did not "replace" the bushings in the cradle. I shot them full of 3m Urethane to help make them stronger, then I added the Steeda Black differential support pucks, and through bolted all 4 locations with M14 12.9 hardware.

Well Doug, you have to drive the car if you want to see cracks in those bushings you know...

My original plan was to go through a set of rear tires every summer, but I blew that one. My new years resolution is to keep that promise. We will see. 😂
