Been to Bithlo many times back in the early 90’s when it was way out in the sticks. My 87 IROC vs my brothers 88 notch back. Learned then that tge Mustang was the better way to go!

Turns out the issue wasn’t an halfshaft like I thought it was. This time was my rear end one planetary gear decided it had enough. I’m glad it was the diff and not the axles
What are you going to put back in there (a spool or something better than the factory setup)?

I was looking at entering my car in the true street stick shift class if I can get a fuel system before then. Anyone else in here going?

this may seem off the wall but have you considered a CF driveshaft? it might help dissipate some of the initial shock of the launch. MT82's come with steel pumpkins for a reason

Couldn’t find a better solution with out spending a ton of money, I bought a used stock rear end, last time out 4th gear finally gave out, so is time to make a decision. Stay with the mt82 and rebuild it stronger but keep all the drivetrain issues or replace it with a turbo 400 and call it. The th400 should help with all the drive trail issues.

My driveshaft is carbon fiber already. Also I believe that my suspension was set too tight making the car wheel hoop causing all the damage. We dialed back and reduced the launch rpm’s and the car left the line but sadly my factory mt82 had enough, can’t really complain about it she hold for a long time.

Have you pulled and opened up your tranny to inspect it yet? Just curious as to what type of damage you may have found? If you decide to rebuild it, please document it for us and let us know what lived, died, or was seriously damaged inside. good luck on whatever you decide to do?

Instant application of power via the clutch is your issue. Do you know how a slipper clutch works? Softening the hit is you're solution. The Clutch Tamer makes a hydraulic version you can look into.
