Definitely odd to not share what the initial cause and fix to the problem was. I haven't run into any issues of this sort, but it was starting to become a good story line in the case that i did.
Nothing was done specialty wise. Ended up keeping the RXT and Vengeance clutch both. Running the RXT.
Grinding sounds like synchros in the transmission to me.
Either way if you have the opportunity put E85 on it, with free flowing exhaust and throw 10-12 pounds of boost. Should be safe for the most part and will feel like a totally different car.
I recently noticed my car emitting smoke from under the hood a few days ago, turned out to be my valve cover gasket (which I've been reading to be common has failed) on passenger side. So I will be replacing them on both sides, In the interim of determining where this mystery smoke was coming...

Enjoying where I can, while I can. Was born and brought home from the hospital, in a mustang.. Love these machines.
I see you're from the M.. another Memphian here. That's what's up, to answer your question just about every time I took the car to the track I powershifted it 2nd/3rd , lasted for a couple of seasons. Now is a Built MT82 Stage 3. Powershift 1-3rd most of the time. Just installed a WOT box a...
Yes they do recommend it, that doesn't equate to a clutch not being problematic though. It's all mechanical moving pieces so things fail, not to be unexpected in this niche we're in.
I called them (Calimer) and explained symptoms as my STG 3 is brand new, they said clutch was the issue. Sure enough it was, other than that. Calimer Trans has been holding up and takes 8K shifts. Works for me.
That sounds like that's gonna be a rocket. Not intended to discourage you man, just elaborating on my reality in particularly. May not be a bad idea to send that clutch in and have it upgraded for the stage 3. As it's suppose to hold over 1000 from what it's rated at least. I'd recommend doing that.
IMO I'd dive off immediately into the Stage 3 if you're gonna go vengeance and plan to make that type of power. Or go with McLeod from the get go. Car shifted like butter when I had the clutch in it before the issues, it just didn't hold up long for me.
I am most certain I did, actually waited the full 1000 mile. 985 Something if I am being specific, then after never gave the car excessively hard launches. Never even got the opportunity to take the car to the track before it started having troubles. Mostly saw rolls which it felt initially like...
I honestly was in denial that it was the clutch for the longest because of the reputation behind them, my initial experience, + the usage and minimal abuse. Not bashing the guys by any means but just sharing my experience as it's not all cookies and cream from what the rest of the internet is...
Just wanting to chime in and add my 2 cents on my experience with Vengeance. Mods in description, I've had the clutch for about 8 months of mostly light driving with light to light pulls. No hard dumps, or launches. Initially the clutch felt great with day to day driving and under power, I put...
