So, whats the concensus? Redline 75W140 or BG Ultra-Guard LS to keep the torsen diff cool at the track?
FWIW, I've yet to get the temp error on my car after 4 days of HPDE and a bunch of autox. (just lucky I guess, but I do run with TC off)
Traction control OFF (in track mode) and running the BG diff fluid.Any traction control on? Stock fluid?
Aftermarket exhaust?
I'd be interested to see the gaps between the exhaust pipes and your diff. After wrapping my exhaust pipes with header wrap last night, I can tell you the factory exhaust basically makes a little nest for the diff to sit in. An aftermarket exhaust could make the problem better or worse depending on routing and fitment.I have the Ford Racing touring exhaust which is Borla.
Good to know. My next track day I will do this. I don't have a pic of the exhaust. I would need to jack it up to get a decent pic to show the clearance but I can do this in the next day or so.I'd be interested to see the gaps between the exhaust pipes and your diff. Also turning on Track Mode doesn't entirely disable all of the 'traction control' features. To entirely disable AdvanceTrac (yaw) and Traction Control (rear wheel traction) you need to hold the traction control button down for like 5-8 seconds (second button from the left on the premium cars). Just using the mode button to put the car in Track mode doesn't turn it all off, FWIW.
