I had my second track day with this car today. Brand new track, we were the first group on it. It was hot, low 90s. Car is stock. I couldn't finish a full session without the axle temp warning. I had an hour and half to two hours between sessions to attempt to cool.

Very frustrated by this. Need a diff cooler!

I continue to live in ignorant bliss running full 20 minute sessions with my 2015. I did replace the fluid with Royal Purple after a couple track days though.

Thanks to MagnaFlow for the suggestion.
I'm quite happy with the results.
As the clutch is out of the car, I am hoping to be able to wrap all the way forward and perhaps some portion of the headers too, not sure...

Ordering 3 rolls now, cant hurt. I have a 15 so i dont have the light giving me warning but im paranoid about it now. Hopefully someone will design a cooler soon. Full tilt boogie racing appears to have a good setup for the s197's, maybe they will alter it soon to work for us.

The wrap from 'zon is 15 feet longer and you might be fine with 2 of them if that was your choice. Maybe worth mention.

In case this thread is still alive...or just between me and you roadcourse newb lol....i just got an email from boogie racing about using their s197 differential cooler on our s550s...."Our FT 1370 diff cooler kit could work with your S550. The only thing you would have to do custom or different is the plumbing to and from your diff."

I noticed that Ford Racing offers a transmission cooling air scoop for 15/16 GTs, which is similar to the factory one on the Boss 302.

Could a similar scoop under the differential (perhaps fabricated from one of the trans scoops) provide a useful increase in airflow and cooling? Even a small temperature reduction might allow the cars to run significantly longer on the track.
