Just as the title says.
I’ve installed a QA1 SFI driveshaft on my 18 R in August and literally put Zero miles on it since and when I went under the car today to do some things I noticed oil drippings on the floor and oil hanging from the pinions CV joint.

Has anyone else noticed this?
I’m calling QA1 tomorrow.
Floor oil stain pic is reference to my hand.

Update:
Talked to qa1. Sending it in for a exchange.

Never would expect that with such low milage. Thanks for the heads up. Will take a picture of our odometer just to remember when the QA1 was installed. It'll be a while before it's out.

Let us know what they have to say.

My car has 22 miles on the odometer. This might be interesting to hear what they say.

That sucks. Let me know if you need the service manual procedure. Otherwise, put it all back to how it was and let ford fix it. Show up with the QA1 at the dealer and you owned the problem.

I’m a mechanic
I have all the manuals. This is strictly a QA1 issue. Not ford.
The differential pinion seal is dry. It’s coming directly from the QA1 cv joint

Let us know what QA1 has to say about this. I wouldn't expect oil that light as part of this assembly. Could be oil that migrated from the grease. I was under my car yesterday and the QA1 driveshaft looked fine, I probably have 500 miles since I installed it in Octobrer.

That my thought; oil like that coming out of the joint?? But I guess there’s no way it’s axle fluid.

I have the QA1 installed for the last 1500 miles at least. No leak issues here and the first I’ve ever heard of it. Could be a faulty joint and I’m sure QA1 will make it right. High quality kit.

I had a leak that looked an awful lot like that once.
Ended up being rear end oil getting past the pinion nut.
If the pinion nut doesn't seal off the end of the pinion, oil can get past between the splines/threads of the pinion and rear end yoke.
Is that a stock pinion yoke ?

This car literally has not even been driven since I brought it home from the dealer.
I trailered it home.
Put it on my lift.
Installed the QA1, MGW, ARH headers.
Hasn’t been off the left since.
It’s not leaking at the pinion nut or companion flange. Its all dry on the nut and flange. The oem shaft was bone dry.
It’s wet on the top of the cv joint and running down to the bottom just as seen in the pictures I posted.

I like to disassemble things.
Vallo noted exactly what I was thinking. The pinion flange looks coated and I haven't seen that before. That would imply it has been changed, if so I'd suspect it migrating past the pinion nut. What is weird is that it is so far forward from the nut though and on top like you stated. Most interestingly is the fact that the CV joint grease is fairly viscous and not at all what looks to be dripping.

Did you lubricate the threads to the cv joint bolts when installing?

Did you smell of it? Nothing smells like gear oil. I would think that would be a dead giveaway too.

Also, just me, but if this thing hasn’t been driven at all, I’d personally drive it for a bit. If it’s a little gear oil leaking past, a couple heat cycles on the rear end may close things up.
