OP..It may be worth identifying which Procharger you are looking at. P1 vs. the 2.9 Whipple is no contest for Whipple in power potential. D1 is more on the 2.9s level. In general, my IATs are much better with the Whipple than the D1 and Paxton buddies I race with. and I mean by 30ish degrees during WOT. I haven't seen a "Heat Soak" issue that those guys haven't also dealt with. There is a ton of heat trapped in these engine bays and it doesn't matter which setup you have, it's an issue. Now it's not exactly Apples to Apples as I have a trunk mounted water tank but do NOT run ice (not sure how much this helped IATs, I did it to use the CJ intake). I also have a cobrajet intake which definitely helped moving the filter out of the engine bay.

My point was to say that "heat soak" is not the issue with PDs that some may lead you to believe. It's an "issue" for everyone and anyone that races does things to mitigate that heat the best you can.

Personally, now that I've run a D1 and the Whipple, I would always go Whipple, or if I wanted extreme power, go Turbo. My car pulls from 3500 until 8k and damn hard too. People have a tendency to think PDs only have power down low but MPH speaks for itself. I can run 136mph in the 1/4 on 93 octane only when some Centris on E85 have trouble getting there.

You will have a blast in a blown Coyote either damn way. Just don't make a decision based on "heat soak"

Either one will be fun. you'll hear a different preference from everybody....

Personally when I was deciding between the two I chose a wastegated Procharger. IMO it gave me the best of both worlds. Centri supercharger with similar power delivery of a PD.

To each their own. Either way you'll be going faster.

another cheap P1 checking in......trapping 136 on 93 if I may add, even though some think "centris with E85 barely get there".

I ran someone I know with a Whipple, Whipple tune with a lot of the torque management removed. Both on drag radials and 93 octane. Beat him.

thanks for your help:headbonk: I did search and didn't see anything I would call a "fair" comparison.
My point was there are so many cars with so many different mods you really have to do your own research.

Basically your question was closer to a statement along these lines:
Do hours of research for me and make a conclusion that I can consider because I'm lazy.

I searched and searched also for th 18’s and a close comparison dyno between the whipped and just about any centri SC so I could see power delivery, but after seeing a few whipples and 15-17 centi’s I believe the whipple will do what I want.. now looking into seeing about the cooler since I live in Vegas and heat.. lots of heat lol.

No reason to get personal with it. I'm far from lazy, and I have searched numerous threads looking at Whipple and ProCharger results. I was simply curious if anyone has done any semi controlled testing that I wasn't aware of comparing cars with similar combinations such as full exhaust, 93 or e85 fuel, 12psi peak boost with the only real difference being choice of power adder. I would think that the ProCharger would need an intake manifold to help it make comparable power up to 7500rpm.

Not exactly a 1:1 comparison, however its pretty darn close. There aren't many people that swap from one blower to another for testing like this, also this is a Camaro vs. Mustang so there are some huge differences in that respect, not to mention a difference in boost ie it says 12 psi for the procharger & 13-14psi for the whipple. Keeping in mind just 1lb of boost pressure typically gives about 20-30hp if you aren't over spinning the blower, but you can see the curves at 5m55s. [ame]

With all that said I'm very happy with my procharger setup :)

Daily fun or racecar?
Want big-arse skids without trying too hard, Whipple.
Want bigger skids with even less effort, TVS 2650.
Want something that can put the power down a little more effectively and a dyno sheet with big numbers, maybe the PC.
Personally, I prefer to drive sideways daily, WITH control, so anything non-linear is off the table.
Being able to run decent times is a bonus.
YMMV

You will enjoy whichever option that you choose. It mainly comes down to driving style and where you want the power to come in at. Basically everyone that has a Procharger will vote that way and everyone with a Whipple will vote that way.

Please feel free to contact me and we can discuss your wants and needs and put together a package that fits you.

Yes...I've had my Whipple for more than 2 years and I can't say enough good about Whipple's customer service. Whipple is always innovating and moving forward in big ways leading the industry. Flight control software with their calibration you get power by gear and safety features not offered by any other that the customer can change and adjust anytime. OEM quality looking installation and just dam sexy looking. Last but not least Power is everywhere and one of the most powerful packages you can get for the S550.

Edit: Not saying anything is bad about centi systems I'm sure they are great as well, just don't have any experience with them on the S550.
