Finally received the Whipple and had it installed. Got the car back yesterday. Opted for custom tune, and there definitely are some hiccups. Hopefully sorted out soon. Killer not really being able to enjoy the car. Shop I had it installed at is a really good shop. Not really a performance shop, but seems like it all went really well. No calls to Whipple at all (not sure if that is good or bad yet). I will post hopefully some good stuff in the next day or two......

Went with the TB, 3.625 pulley, 72# injectors, ATI balancer, pypes headers, offroad pipes, left resonator, and Flowmaster axle back.

What was your rationale for getting a custom tune?

Who did your tune if it's not a performance shop that did the instal.

Catless headers was the main thing. Was not really fond of adding parts of remove CEL. Also some more power. I know the Whipple tune is a great tune, and I cannot knock it, but there are plenty of custom tunes safely making more power. Also, wanted to be a little different as there a plenty of Whipples out there. Who knows though, at the rate this is going, I may end up with the Whipple tune anyway.

Pretty sure he means Ken Bjonnes from palm beach dyno. If you're on the base tune just keep logging and doing whatever Ken says. He will get you squared away pretty quickly.

That is who I am using. I do have confidence in him which is why I chose him and built according to his recommendations. However, he seemed really surprised that the Whipple came with Dw injectors. Normally he will not tune a car with those, but made an exception for me. He found some issues and inconsistency with the data they supply with their injectors which is making things difficult. I am not that technical with this, just wording is as best I can.

I honestly am not even sure that something else mechanical is not going on. There are fueling issues, boost is coming on at a very low rpm right now, idle is high, car will change acceleration while not changing accelerator position etc.... I do have people from the forum helping me out with that stuff so I will investigate more tomorrow. So far I know the bypass is opening when I start the car and is not stuck.

Sounds to me maybe you have a vacuum leak. Seem the biggest culprit is the TB O ring gasket you should give that a check. Keep us posted.

If I take that off to check, do I need to replace anything to put it back on? That has been mentioned to me. I am just not that familiar with it.

Nope, after you remove the intake tube it's just 4 bolts and the TB pops off. The O ring sits in a groove and if it wasn't pressed in correctly it can fold over outside the groove when putting the TB back into place causing a leak.

Thanks. I will check that first thing on the morning.
