I can't decide between one or the other. I am so torn. Just looking for ideas from people. Car is not a daily but something drive on my days off and what not. Will be taking it to the track, and doing lots of highway pulls. I can't decide. I love how the roots style has instant tire shredding performance. However, I love the fact a turbo will just go and go and go....Centrifugal is like keeps making boost until you stop. To be honest, most of the time the car is driven its going to be taking it easy until I wanna show out. I want to run 93 octane most of the time and E85 when I can get it (I know that means I have to upgrade the fuel system and different tunes) Just wondering what kind of set ups others have done and what the like and didn't like. I have also thought about a bolt on motor with nitrous and cams. However, I don't like those power numbers. I really want to touch the low 10's high 9's at the track. However, be able to daily drive the thing. My last mustang was an 03 Cobra that was basic bolt ons and I loved it. My first mustang was a 2005 GT built motor, cams, an a 300 shot of gas (NOT A STREET FRIENDLY CAR). Advice, experience, and what not is greatly appreciated. I don't like doing something more than once. The more info I can get the better.

You loved your 03 cobra so why not go with that style supercharger?

I loved the car for what it was. I really did. However, I had the urge for more power. LOTS MORE. How are the roots style s550 vs the turbo s550's at the 1/4 mile

tvs is the shit for a stick car. Low end is awesome, make 800 wheel and over 650 torque with a pulley swap and e85 with a little 2.3 that drives like stock.

What is the power limit on 93 with the TVS. I have thought about them as well.

I have 3.73 gears already. If that makes any bit of difference.

So a friend has a new ZL1 stick car and we raced from 20, 40 and 60 to over 150. Guess what? On the hit its identical and we are side by side for a second then I pull away in each gear. I'm only low 600's on pump gas. Everybody says centri have no torque and suck??

I have had 2 PD Blower cars 03 cobra and 2017 hellcat and 2 Centrifugal cars 07 shelby and 14 1LE camaro both Centrifugal cars would mop the floor with the PD cars . CENTRIFUGAL is easier on drive line and more linear with delivery too for the street in my opinion not to mention the mid to top end pull is way better also much less heat and better IATs with a Centrifugal. Basically a belt driven turbo in my eyes

How many revs were you pulling “at the hit”?

They are, they really really are.
Average horsepower is where it’s at.

I dont remember exactly, but I guess around 3500-4000. I get what your thinking and yes if we were both in a higher gear and lower revs maybe the tq of the pd would pull away. Have to try that sometime.

He has 650 at the crank. You have almost that at the tyres. His peak torque happens around 3600rpm.
You have also have a torque multiplication advantage (higher redline, able to hold shorter gears longer).
I’m fairly unsurprised at the result to be honest.
Maybe find a TVS blown S550 for a more accurate representation?
