Resurrecting this as I will have my first winter in PA. She is my DD and I don’t have the funding to change that scenario. I could get an undercarriage treatment done for $100 (Krown)...anyone else tried that or is it just snake oil. I still have decent tread on my stock Pirelli all seasons.

You'll need winter tires for sure. You could get away without on wet asphalt but add soon as snow or ice covers the road you'll want winter tires .
I've used krown on my daily drivers and it makes a huge difference. It is messy but it works.

I've driven 3 Mustangs year-'round, one in S.W. Michigan where the winters are brutal. It's absolutely 0 problem, as long as you have the right tires. Mustangs aren't any different than any 2WD vehicle in the winter, just get the right tires on them.

Ceramic coating and keep the undercarriage clean.

Move South!
Only white stuff I see in winter is the sandy white beaches here along the Gulf Coast. LOL

However I did live in Germany for many years and the salt on the roads there was horrendous. Lots of washing (more like rinsing) in winter, then again my VW at the time had a nice rubber undercoating on it from the factory so no issues. Plus I had a garage.

You can have that winter crap...

Good luck.

Nova...did you go winter tires? I see mixed opinions on the krown. I don’t like that it requires drilling and sloppy installation can harm rubber seals. I might just rinse the undercarriage often.

Emt1581,
Our cars may never be highly collectible and who cares. I am fortunate to be able to store my vehicle from November 1st to May 1st. I have read many ways to store a car long-term and incorporated them into my annual ritual.
It might not be the best way or the right way, but it's what has been successful for me so far.
The Car-Jacket prevents the moisture that comes through the concrete, causing the vehicle's undercarriage to rust.
Prior to storing the car, the oil is changed, the vehicle is vacuumed, washed, detailed, waxed and filled with fuel. I take the car to the storage facility. I spread out the car jacket storage bag on the ground and park the car and cover the vehicle with a heavy-duty indoor cover. I return 3 days later to ensure moisture in the exhaust system had time to dry out. I remove the battery, place dryer sheets inside and under the hood. The container of Damp-Rid Hi-Capacity Moisture Absorber is placed under the rear of the vehicle and the bag is zipped closed. I put the Damp-Rid inside the bag to absorb moisture due to the fluctuation in temperatures throughout the winter months. I ordered this car and have 20000 miles. It looks as good under the car as it did the day I picked it up from the dealer.

I use rhe product “Rust Check” which is the same idea as Krown, not for my car(stored all winter) but for my truck. I live in an extremely salty environment and it definitely works. As was stated be another member, it is messy, but it works. Not only is my truck undercoated each year, but holes are drilled in the doors, pillars, rockers etc. Then the rust inhibitor is sprayed in by using rods/hoses and plugged with plastic covers. For me, there is no better way to slow/stop rust.

Some summer tires dont return to form after freezing. I keep my summer wheels/tires inside.

this is our 1st car in 40 years. We even buit a 3 car garage just to store it
in for the Winter ( along with 3 Harleys - one being a trike ). Got a nice
soft cover for it and also bought a Car Capsule. It is a big bubble with
a fan to circlate air. I have all the bikes in their own bubbles as I call them.
It works great keeping the mice out of vehicles. Still driving it once in awhile
because really no snow yet here ( Southern NH ). We have a Jeep Wrangler
and a RAM 2500 crewcab for the Winter. I will do the seafoam and Battery
Charger and see it in the Spring.
