Picking my PP2 up tomorrow.

Yours is like mine but I ordered cloth Recaros. Mine should be delivered tomorrow or Tuesday.

Congrats, you will love it :-)

Yeah, I thought about the cloth Recaros, probably a better idea for actual track use.

Couple questions for my fellow PP2 owners:

Q1: Oil Temp Gauge: What's y'alls take on no Oil Temp gauge in the 18+ cars? This drives me nuts. Want to know when I can get on it once on track. Water gauge info doesn't do it for me. Plus I want to know my exact temps. Thoughts?

Q2: Rock Guards: Given these Cup-2 tires are duct tape for the street and slinging rocks everywhere, any unique rock guard installs? I like what the GT350's have on the rear tires as stock (that tiny lip). I don't want to put something on that makes me look like a Subi (no offense, I'm just not AWD! :))

Q3: Diff Temp Issues: Anyone having temp issue on track? I'm still waiting to break-in, but have been reading some issues with diff overheating after a few laps. Any diff cooler installs by anyone?
oil temp hasn't been an issue i've seen anyone report, only diff temp. i imagine with 10qts of oil, there is plenty of heat transfer.
rock guards are necessary for the fronts only IMO. i don't have a single chip on my rear bumper, but the quarter panels have chips abound. that was even with zl1addon front guards (which i took off after realizing they weren't doing anything).

Thanks for the info to both of you. Looks like I have my plan set. Have to take a breather before any second set of rims though :-) I'll probably wear these first ones out on the street, maybe they will make first track day.
I have 2800 miles on my original SC2 tires. This last track day at Sonoma Raceway really took a beating on them. I can probably get one more track day on these, but the right front for some reason kept dropping a few psi every track session which is really weird.
So with that I am going to just replace the tires this coming week as I have another track day on the 27th and don't want to be fooling around with that issue. Going to replace the TPS sensor as well just in case.
Sonoma Raceway is pretty technical track, it is tough on the tires if your pushing the car hard.

Also, one more deal I had out there, the active exhaust valve fuse would blow out on me every time I went on the track. I can't reproduce it on the street, so must be heat or something moving in the wiring while slamming corners.

I do wish there was both a engine oil temp and trans temp gauges.
My car never once was at complete operating temp when I hit the track although I take a lap or more before I really get on it. I am running 5W-50 oil as well as the ford performance filter. I ran it to the limiter quite a bit, not a single issue.

For the rear diff, last track day was about 70 deg out and sunny, track got fairly warm and my diff never overheated, went a bit over the half way mark on the temp gauge. I did change the fluid to the Amsoil 75W-140 with no additive.
I think if the ambient temp was 85-90 deg, there might be temp issues with 25 minute sessions.

Awesome thank for this info! Have been worried about this those diff issues.
I’ll keep everyone posted as well to see what I come up with on gauges. Looking at a few customer integrated gauge options- want it to look factory.

I bought the Rokblokz ones, but I think they are not so good looking (IMO). I think the biggest gripe I have is they hang down way below the valance in the rear, and the the rocker in the front. I could trim them I suppose.
All I really want to is keep my paint from chipping, and so far it seems the worst part is on the front fender lips. The GT350 rears look pretty good and they sell a kit to use on a regular GT somewhere, but nothing for the front.
A member here bought these https://www.cjponyparts.com/califor...et-v6-2015-2017-ecoboost-gt-2015-2019/p/MF24/
But he did not end up using them because they contrast to much with his color.
I picked them up at a good price to see how they will look on my Magnetic. I guess I'll see if I like them, should do well at protecting the paint and not look like a mud flap, but We'll see.

I have the cjponyparts version on my Kona blue. They blend in well with that color.

I used the quick detailer today to get the dead bugs off the front end. Sadly I noticed two area's where I'm guessing rocks kicked up and knicked the bumper. It almost looks like someone had attempted to put the front plate on the car however the holes do not line up for that. Rather upsetting but you really can't see it unless you know they are there. I suppose since it is plastic no use in touch up paint?

Also I've had a mind F all day. I was convinced the wheels were correct when the summer set went on a few weeks ago. Every time I look now it looks "off". The "deeper" wheels are on the rear but the front stick out from the fenders so much it has me confused. I measured the rear wheels via tire width and even with all being 305 the fronts measured 10.5 and the rear 11. This of course wasn't very scientific.

According to the manual, the easy way to tell is by looking at where the valve stem is on the rims. In the front, it sits in between a V, whereas in the rear, it's in the parallel space between 2 Vs. A picture is worth a thousand words :camera:

Thank you. As soon as I read your post I remembered covering it in the manual. My wheels are correct but it is certainly easy to get it in your head they aren't.
