Centripetal....

I agree with what Grimace says above, too.
Centripetal is the force pulling things towards the center, centrifugal is the force throwing thing outward (which is due to the inertia of the spinning components). I think what affects the steering feel is more of the gyroscopic effect.

I know that when I put on my light weight race my wheels, I notice an improvement in ride quality and a slight performance improvement, the car feels more nimble to me.

Its hard to believe some people go even heavier wheels like 20's on these already heavy cars, go figure

Kn, after you installed the Superleggeras, did you notice any improvement in the pitching/bobbing the PP is notorious for during freeway cruise?
Yes, a little, not a night and day improvement, but enough of an improvement that I don't notice the bobbing nearly as much. I have a 68-mile daily commute in my Mustang, and there are certain bumps and roads that are now less irritating to drive over.

I tried a set of 20" wheels and tires that were a few pounds heavier over the 19" GT PP wheels/tires with a more aggressive offset and the car drove horribly compared to the GT PP wheels, actually amplifying the bobbing effect. Prior to the 20" wheels I had the GT500 Ford Racing forged wheels on the car for roughly 10k miles that have almost the same offset as the factory PP wheels

IMO, the if you go with a higher offset wheels, and/or heavier wheels and tires on the 2015 Mustang, I think the car needs stiffer springs and increased damping, which I was not willing to experiment into.

A lot of 20" wheels are lighter than the stock 19" wheels. Stock GT/PP wheels are 32lbs(F), 33lbs(R). 20x10" Forgestar wheels can weigh as little as 25-27lbs.

My 20" WORK wheels which are 20x10 and 20x11 will weigh between 25-27lbs each. I expect to save 25-30 lbs from those alone along with the 30lbs I have saved in exhaust work already.

A lot of 20" wheels that are lighter than 19s still take more energy to rotate.

It's not all about static weight guys.

I will be switching to the 19x10 Forgestar CF10s + 275/40/19 MPSS. That combo will save me 40-45lbs over the PP wheels/tires.

I have the base 17 x 7.5" wheels, the ecoboost is about 80 lbs lighter than the PP eco even according to Fords figures.
Mine weighed 3,482 with 1/2 tank of gas on certified scale.

Might as well ask, how much do eb pp wheels weigh so I can start finding lightweight alternatives to go along with the Michelin's that will replace the suckrelli's
Around 31-32 lbs.

Dafuq?:confused::confused:

Why so heavy, definitely getting lighter rims!
My guess did this for money and weight reasons. They can go with a forged wheel in the future along with an aluminum body and drop a significant amount of weight.

For the amount you would spend on AP rotors, wheels, etc you could buy one of Beefcake's supercharger kits and drop 2 seconds off your quarter mile time compared to 2 tenths. Make sure you know your ultimate goal for the mods you are doing before throwing money at it.
