Complete round trip to Boise. A little over 1500 miles, taking me to about 2500 miles total. Everything from 85 mph cruising to 45 mph driving through a snowstorm over Donner Pass this afternoon. (No problems there, snow mode was very confident on the A/S tires.) Overall mpg is 26.5 on the computer, so right at 25.0 hand calc'd. Not bad at all for the speeds driven and the amount of mountain climbing included. (The trip starts at 3,000 elevation at our home, goes down to 200, up to 7000, down to 3000, up to 5500 and down to 3500 in Boise.)
So your mpg is actually getting better a it is broke in? I am barely averaging 15 mpg lol only 480 miles

Not THAT much better, LOL. Maybe a little. I'll know more as I do my commute these next couple of weeks. I can tell you the car is really sensitive to doing anything more than flat cruising. We had headwinds on the first half of the trip yesterday (Boise to Winnamucca, a really scenic place), and that tank was only 22, despite being on an open 65 mph highway.

150 mi trip through hills of southern IN, 45-70mph... average MPG was 28.5 with high of 31 MPG at one point. EB w/PP.
This is on the computer, I assume? How does that compare with actual calculation of miles divided by gallons? My car, and Dabko's, have almost 1.5 mpg less by hand than the computer is getting.

GT/Auto/3:55, a little over a hundred miles on my first tank, 18.3 mpg average on mostly hilly highway miles. I'm expecting about 21 when I get a few more miles on it. Only really got on it a couple times trying to give it a proper break in. I'll calculate when I fill up to see how much discrepancy there is. Second tank should be much more "spirited".

GT PP Manual. ~600 miles on it. Averaging 16.4 MPG

In Michigan we have city driving (stop & go) and interstate driving (>70mph). Not many highways (long stretch of roads with speed < 61 mph). I average 60/40 Interstate/City driving.

So I get about what is expected. I wish there was a third number on the sticker for interstates since a lot of people confuse highway with interstate. But I'm sure that number would be close if not the same as the city number.

Do we have a good comparison of a Auto GT with 3.55s vs 3.15s?

Last tank, 22.35 MPG and that was mostly highway miles. There may have been moments my enthusiasm got the best of me.

GT, 6-Speed, with 3.55 gears.

Posting this for those that haven't seen it or run the #s. Please don't turn this into a why wouldn't you run 93 octane in your GT thing. Many on here have stated they are going to run 87 in their GT.

EB (93 octane) vs GT MPG (87 octane) comparison.

The HP loss is substantial in the EB if you run 87 but only around 1% in the GT. Most in the EB will run 93 where 87 is just fine in the GT without taking any major hit.

EB combined: 25 mpg
GT combined: 19 mpg

15 gallon tank to fill up.

Average price difference between 87 octane and 93 octane is .40 cent in NOVA/DC area.

$6 difference in cost filling up with 87 octane vs 93 octane. $6 purchases an additional 2 gallons of fuel with 87.

So for same money spent, you purchase 17 gallons with 87 octane, 15 gallons with 93 octane.

GT: 19 mpg x 17 gallons = 323 miles total
EB: 25 mpg x 15 gallons = 375 miles total

Only a 50 mpg difference in reality if you are talking the price difference in fuel cost of the EB vs GT. It's almost 90 mpg if you run the same octane.

That is outstanding, giving confidence that when driven conservative you can meet or exceed rated mpg, and when you choose to you can tank it. :)

Thanks to all of you for coming back repeatedly to keep us updated, helps us to make our decisions and very much appreciated!

Chris
What he said! I'm coming up on my second fill-up, so I'll post my miles divided by gallons mpg in a day or two.

Scooter, congrats on your deliver, you need to change your stats from (ordered) to (delivered)! :)

Personally waiting on the convertible, will likely order in Feb around my birthday (that way delivery coincides with bonuses, etc, from work), but these stats are giving me confidence that the GT will not always be a gas hog!

GT Premium with PP. I have right at 100 miles on the clock. Tank was filled at the dealer with whatever cheap stuff they have. This has been roughly 75 percent city (city streets, stop lights), and 25 percent highway (city interstate) driving. I have not been easy on the throttle (I like a hard break-in) but have not done any WOT runs. The computer started at 4.2 mpg with 3.4 miles on the odo, and now reads 15.5 mpg after 100 miles.

This made me smile. Our dealership buys gas from a Shell station a few blocks away. When we went in to buy my car last week, my wife insisted that we test drive before we signed, and the car hadn't had any gas put in since it arrived (it had 17.6 on the odo and was showing 4 miles to empty).

So the sales guy goes and gets a PO for gas from his manager, and comes back and says "I guess they are pretty confident that you are going to buy - he authorized me to fill it."

I smiled and said "Premium, right?" and he says, "Yeah, um... no. We don't buy premium"

We get to the station and as he is heading in to authorize the pump he turns around and says "Go ahead and put premium in - they can fire me later!"

So my first tank was Shell premium. :-D

Cool story. That was cool of your salesman to do that.
