Thanks, guys. This new tankful is 93 octane from the local Costco: now I just need to remember to shift into 6th gear on the highway, and I'll probably clear 20 mpg. The Scion tC I just sold only got 23-24 mpg, so anything close to 20 for my work commute is fine by me - 2 times the cylinders, 3 times the horsepower!

Ran 125 freeway miles today at 68 mph. 27.2 mpg on the computer, starting with a full tank. Sweet. 3.15 AT.
Hey Old 5 Oh, do you have the 50th Anniversary Appearance Package on you car, and if so, could you post or PM me a picture of your floor mats?

I bought the 50th Anniversary Appearance Package on my GT Premium too, which includes "Unique Floor Mats" along with a Unique Grill, Gas Cap and Seat & Door Inserts, according to the 2015 Mustang build website (both today and back in August when I ordered the car). But when I picked it up at the dealer last Saturday, what was in the car were plain, ordinary featureless black mats - no logo or details, nothing "Unique" or special at all.

If your car has the 50th package, could you please PM or post a pic confirming what floor mats came with yours? I'd like to make sure I'm getting what I paid for.

50th Anniversary floor mats are black with light-colored contrast stitching. No logos or anything; it's the contrast stitching that's unique.

19.2 through the break-in period (Ecoboost, 3.55, manual)

"Vary your speed frequently and change up through the gears early. Do not labor the engine." Yes Sir! You dont have to tell me that twice haha. Whats this about "Avoid driving too fast during the first 1000 miles" must be a typo meant for a hybrid

50/50 mix of dense city traffic and I-95. The thing about my highway miles are that they are either intermittent through traffic or bombing down with it wide open, so one can say there is very little opportunity to keep it at 60. On that note, how on earth do you guys creep at 65 on the highway?

would love to drive this car very economically to really get a feel for how much I can squeeze out of it, especially since Ecoboosts are not well represented on this thread. Should be easy with the cold weather, but I honestly dont care. Its a Mustang. I will say that filling with premium has made absolutely zero impact on my life, so anyone on the fence about that can relax

Bummer. It's not so unique when you actually have to ask what's different, is it —*kind of like having to explain the punch line of a joke!

Complete round trip to Boise. A little over 1500 miles, taking me to about 2500 miles total. Everything from 85 mph cruising to 45 mph driving through a snowstorm over Donner Pass this afternoon. (No problems there, snow mode was very confident on the A/S tires.) Overall mpg is 26.5 on the computer, so right at 25.0 hand calc'd. Not bad at all for the speeds driven and the amount of mountain climbing included. (The trip starts at 3,000 elevation at our home, goes down to 200, up to 7000, down to 3000, up to 5500 and down to 3500 in Boise.)

That is outstanding, giving confidence that when driven conservative you can meet or exceed rated mpg, and when you choose to you can tank it. :)

Thanks to all of you for coming back repeatedly to keep us updated, helps us to make our decisions and very much appreciated!

2k on the car now, overall avg at 23mpg and recent trip from Houston to Dallas and back at around 80-90mph both ways I averaged 25-26. Haven't been hand calculating since it's better than the 14mpg I was used to. Cruising at 60-65 it's been up to 31 and I've gotten down to 19.

Redline seats are awesome… wish they'd been available (with yellow panels) for Triple Yellow cars like mine. Great mileage on your Boise trip btw, and it's good to know the traction control actually works in snow with the all-seasons.

I ordered dedicated snows & wheels from Tire Rack, but they're on hold until mid-December until Tire Rack can get the 2015 TPMS sensors from Ford: I've been calling Ford dealer parts departments in different states, and they can't get TPMS sensors for the cars yet either.
