I got some pretty high mpgs around the Denver area once in my truck...I attributed it to drafting...maybe your case?Surely something's wrong with how the car is calculating mileage? This was the first time i've had it out on the highway really, mostly I drive mixed city to/from work and have averaged 21-24 mpg on my first few tanks. Could this be accurate? Or is it likely that the car's computer isn't accurately calculating the mpg since it's still such low mileage / small amount of time spent on the highway?
Wow, that's really impressive. We might need to make a distinct post for each engine with a poll for MPG to see what the averages/outliers are.My car: Base auto EcoBoost w/ 17s. I've filled it up with 91 since I got the car.
Although it's not a full tank's worth of measuring, i reset my trip counter prior to leaving my house in Colorado Springs and drove up to Denver. Mixed highway/city at the start and finish of the trip, with most up the interstate doing 75-80.
This is what I was sitting at when I parked in Denver. At one point before I hit construction entering Denver I was sitting at 41 MPG.

When I returned home, it had dropped down to 37 mpg but the trip back didn't allow for mph to stay as consistent due to traffic.
Edit: I'm also on snow tires vs the summer tires that came on it.
Well you prob have the lightest model possible..a base EB with 17's.My car: Base auto EcoBoost w/ 17s. I've filled it up with 91 since I got the car.

Impressive...most impressive.Extremely painful drive, not going over 60mph using Chevron 93. This is a one way trip, the only way to get a average is to do the same going the opposite direction. I would guess the average would be 27 mpg.
Hand calc is more accurate... trip computer only goes by the " at the time " mileage... it may be minus 2 mpg from the computer mpg showing as mine didIs anyone actually hand-calculating their MPG or just going on what the computer says? I wouldn't trust that computer as far as I can throw it. You can almost guarantee it is being extra generous. Only takes a few seconds to check it against your trip odometer and the fuel receipt.
I've done numerous hand calculations and compared to the Ford calculations on several different Fords and they were all about 1 mpg conservative. Is anyone actually hand-calculating their MPG or just going on what the computer says?
