I ordered mine on 7/13
I got my vin 11/1
They are now telling me build date of 1/21

I’m not sure if it’s my dealer or the regional rep that is the problem.
The dealer told me 6-8 weeks when I ordered the car, now it’s looking like 6-8 months.
6-8 weeks seems to be the standard salesman line regardless if it’s true or not. It’s either an accurate average time or the amount of time someone calculated so that the customer would deem it acceptable. Obviously once they get your deposit they don’t really care. I’m mean they might, just not very much.

I ordered on 07/21, GT premium w/ 10A SP S&S 401A PP1 B&O & Mangnaride. I got vin # on 08/30 which said car is in order processing and EDD of 11/10. Cotus checker e-mailed me on 10/10 that I could now see my window sticker & Blend date of 10/16. Car started being built on 10/17. It didn't come out of production until 10/29 but now showed an EDD of 11/04. During this time I chatted with CS and they told me there must be a quality issue since the build should only take 3 days. So I go to dealer they tell me EDD is 11/10. Yesterday I start checking again because Veh Order Tracker now shows 11/13, Chat cannot find my car which means it's either in transit or dealer has taken delivery. I call dealer and they call me back that cars new EDD is 11/25. After hearing this I start to fume and leave message with salesman that this is unacceptable and I will cancel order if 11/25 is real. I get a call back at 3pm yesterday that they cannot get in tiuch w/regional rep since it Friday and they like to go home early, come Mon or Tues they will get true answer. And Ford is having problems getting cars shipped. At 12:08 am I check VOT website and EDD is now 11/14. This morning I check and website gives me message "We are unable to find the VIN you entered. Either the VIN is invalid or no information is available. Please check with your dealer for status on your vehicle." WTF I think by the time it gets delivered I'll be able to drive it home and park it in garage until April.

Just for the heck of it, I rechecked the Ford tracking website this morning. Yesterday it showed Estimated Delivery: N/A. Now it shows 1/29/2019. That will be 1 day shy of 14 weeks, if that EDD holds true. We will see. Nothing like taking delivery of a PP1 car with Summer only tires in the dead of winter. So, from that standpoint, delivery date doesn’t really matter. As another posted said, it will just sit in the garage until spring (March) anyway. Maybe we will see a few 50 degree or higher days in February and I can at least that pony broken-in.

Hello to all, have not been on here in some time, but my son recently ordered a 2019 GT Premium with the options he considered important, at the time of ordering he was told 8 to 10 weeks max to get the car, which would have put him in the middle of December area with some hopeful thinking. They actually told him when he ordered it that the time is usually shorter.

Then he gets an email today and there not even going to start to build his car until January 7th, ( He ordered it 2 weeks ago ) with estimated dealer arrival of February 15th or so. This seems crazy to me, heck I ordered a BMW from Germany and got it in under 6 weeks.

Just wanted to get other members opinions as to if this seems normal or is this dealer full of crap? This timing would make the wait 4 months to get a Mustang ??

Any tips or info is much appreciated, thanks, Flaps
I ordered mine on July 19th and was told 8 weeks til delivery, wasn't built until Oct. 4th,came off transport truck Oct 8th(after hours) took delivery Oct 9th. This was my experience.

I’m counting on it being delayed hopefully until February. Then I can tell the wife it’s for her birthday. Plus winter will be tapering off. Double win!

Your wife doesn’t know you placed the order? Living on the edge?

I ordered my mustang about 1 MONTH earlier than you and the EDD is 11/07. The Cotus sent me a email at 10/10 and says it is In Production.
Today is 11/4, and it still IN PRODUCTION. How terrible they r. I dont think I can get it within 15 days.

First post to this forum. Here is my story:

Ordered on 9/3/18
EDD 1/2/19
Did not receive VIN until 10/24/18

Velocity Blue GT Premium, 401A, Midnight blue interior, performance pack, active exhaust, safe and smart

Originally ordered magniride, but two weeks in I was told that was holding up the order. Thinking that deleting was going to move things along. I deleted that option. Still going slow.

I figure that this process is just part of the master plan to help me learn patience in life.

Did anyone actual get to the point of receiving a VIN# from Ford or the Dealer? I don’t completely understand Ford’s system but i didn’t think they assigned a VIN until they were ready to schedule. My order, placed 10/17/2018 has Magneride and I received my VIN yesterday. No production date yet, however. Have not received any info on a Magneride shortage.
My order was placed for the PP2 on 10/16 and I have not received a VIN # yet. I'm not sure where my dealership is volume and priority wise. But they are the largest in FLorida I think.

You can find a lot of really good info on Ford's blue oval forums. From what I have see two major factors go into when a car is given a VIN and scheduling. What the dealer's allocation is and are the parts available. You also need to take into account that an order put into the system today would not start until the next scheduled week. The scheduling weeks are about 6-8 weeks in the future (closer to the 8 weeks because of the holidays) see below as of Oct 29th. So currently the scheduling weeks are in end of Dec/Jan at the moment for Mustangs. The shortest part is the actual building and delivery which seems to typically be 2-3 weeks depending on where your dealer is.

A dealer telling you 6-8 weeks is overly optimistic. I would think possible if every factor goes exactly as planned. I think based on what I have seen is 12-14 weeks is what should be expected with anything less or more not typical but possible. Hope this helps.

Yes. Got my VIN the week of Oct 29th. Chatted with Ford performance today. Build week is 1/7/2019. Just like you are showing. GT PP1 + Magneride. Looks like 12 to 14 weeks is spot on..
