I ordered mine on October 19 and just took delivery December 14 (yesterday!)

Build date was 11/17. So, basically one month until production, and one month for shipping.

Is this from order to delivery or just production? I would assume that the lead time for production from welding the first body parts until passing quality check might take 2 weeks at maximum if not less.
This is from order to delivery on US orders, GT_Bonn.

Hello everyone I am new here seeing I just ordered my mustang. I ordered the car on black Friday and haven't heard back from ford is this normal? I can't find how long it usually takes to find out your build date. Thanks for the help.
Welcome and congrats, 2016GT/CS! Be sure to PM me with your dealer’s name and order number so I can track it.

Update : Ordered 8/20 Delivered 12/11.

Just some order/delivery info for those following this thread:

1. My Eco-boost premium was ordered Sept 30 and arrived at the dealer last week, Dec 17 (about ten-weeks).

2. Also noticed when signing the appropriate form, that the odometer reading was 35 miles; seems excessive for a new car!!?? I'm 99% certain that these miles were accumulated before arrival at the dealer so I doubt that I'll be successful in discovering the source.

I believe another poster addressed this issue in recent months but I cannot find the thread/post.

Yes. You car may have been pulled off the line for a quality control check. Was looking for the thread but I have heard some coming with up to 100 miles on them. Ford randomly pulls cars off the line and runs an extended quality control check on them. Sure the dealership didn't put all these miles on so I wouldn't worry about it too much. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your response.

Also interesting was the packet that contains the owner's manual, warranty brochures, etc. This sealed-in-plastic packet, which also included the extra key fob, had a date/time stamp of Nov 5 2015 (more than a month before the vehicle arrived at the dealer...). So it appears that there is a significant time-frame between completion of production and actual delivery of the car!

The fact that it had 35 miles on it seems completely normal for a vehicle that was selected at the factory for quality checks/runs, GeorgeM. There is normally a paper inside the vehicle stating so. Also, the time frame from build to delivery could vary depending on the circumstances.

Mine had 27 when it arrived at the dealer. It left the dealer with 28. Not worried at all.

Got both of your PMs from Wednesday and Friday, Shmoke. I was out of the office on Friday, and playing catch up. I’ll get back to you tomorrow.

She's busy plus maybe down off for the holidays

Thank you for the support, guys!
