Mine keeps trying to download the same update. Ford website keeps telling me I have an update: 21020 but that already installed over wifi. C'mon Ford.

You have to call them and ask for the system to be updated.

I have a '16 Sync 3 APIM installed in my '19 GT. I originally updated my '17 Mustang and upgraded the '16 APIM to 3.0. Been working fine in my '19 GT after making FORSCAN changes - decided to give this upgrade to 3.4 a go. Non-NAV APIM so no maps to download / deal with.

Worked fine for me. Used a 16GB USB drive I've had sitting around for quite a while. I did revert the startup animation back to Mustang (I had changed it to something else when I did the Sync 3 setup more than a year ago) before the upgrade.

Took maybe 15 minutes once I plugged the USB drive in and started the process.

Will give this a try on my wife's 17 EB Premium ragtop that came with Sync 3 and factory NAV.

3.4 does seem more responsive than 3.0 and bootup does seem faster - could be the placebo effect.

No, map updates are USB only as the files are too large for OTA. I checked the last two map updates just for shits and giggles. Similar file names but that is not one of them.

So after I saw this post I decided to try that link on page 1 and see what it says. It says I can upgrade to the latest version to 21020. I agree, what am I getting out of this? My system is working just fine. I would love to know what are the differences if anybody knows.

I thought I read that someone said that the 21020 version makes the touch screen a little faster/responsive. I can not tell any difference though.

How about adding the ability to add any background screen picture that you want like they used to have on Sync 2? Is that back?

A lot of what these “build” update have are under the hood changes so there is nothing to see. Just like you cellphone.

Unfortunately changing background pics died with MFT.

The BlueCruise rollout to new F150s and Mach-E vehicles (plus whatever else it's going to go on) is surely gonna go GREAT.
