I probably won't bother updating the maps anymore; especially if I have to pay for the update. I typically only use Waze and Google maps for navigation.
100% in the same boat and I'm sure most others would agree with you.

One of the only reasons I keep using the built in navigation on my Bullitt is with Android Auto and Google Maps (and also Waze), I only get the direction and next turn, not the time/distance remaining. I get the "-- km" (despite being in miles).
I've posted about this before.

Which means (as I like to keep an eye on it), I have to keep Maps on the main screen.
With built-in navi, I get nicer directions (with the countdown to turn/exit), full distance and time left and then can use full infotainment to display my music info.

Hmmmm….trying to upload the log file, keep getting “Upload Failed, try again later”. This happen to anyone else?
My log file isn't actually on my flash drive (despite being on the newest version) this time. Worked in the past. Might need to reinstall again.

I can see the xml file on my flash drive and can select it. Just doesn’t upload. I’ll try again later.

Hmm, I do remember people stating different things appearing on their center screens. I do understand if you want to see the time/distance remaining in the digital gaugae cluster. The lack of the built-in Nav to see real-time situations and auto-suggest alternative routes are one of the reasons I choose not to rely on it.

I do have to say that the system is enough for many people, so I am not knocking on it or attempting to get anyone to jump to any other navigation system. Now, if only Google or Waze would pay us to advertize..... :)

Oh I use Google Maps mostly anyway, because I have my favorites/flagged stops along routes, which are easy to add with a click, but pain to input into the built-in nav, as it requires you to be at a full stop (I wish there was a mode where it lets you edit stuff if the seat detects you have a passenger).

Yeah, I was one of the people first posting about lack of info in the cluster via AA, but the response from others was scarce, so I couldn't tell if my system wasn't working correctly or what.

The built-in navi actually offered me faster routes Maps didn't see, but yeah, traffic issues are greatly delayed (as they're routed through Sirius versus Google/Waze).

There's benefits to both, but I generally use 65/35 split or so in the favor of Google Maps.

Just FYI, I just had an online chat with a Ford rep. He stated that owners are currently unable to upload their update confirmation file. He did not have an ETA for a fix.

Dumb question: Where can I get an updated maps file? Is CyanLabs secure?

Edit: BTW, the SYNC update worked smoothly, but Ford won't take my log file either.

Bit_the_bullitt There is a way to have the keyboard while driving. Go to YT and look up Nav in motion. It's a focus st video. I've done it in my 19 GT/CS and her 19 Edge ST. It also allows a manual "search" while driving when looking through your USB drive. That feature was taken away with the 3.4 update.

Meaning that feature was there and then disappeared with the 3.4 update? That would jive, I think I kind of remember being able to use it.
I'll give it a look

Upon a quick read and search of F150 forum, it appears you need to change stuff in Forscan (which I don't know how nor do I really want to I don't think) and you have to make the unit think you're in Europe?
I'm surprised, as a European, they'd let you mess with GPS in motion there and not in the US...

Yep. My wife's edge says "colour" in the ambient lighting screen. Nav shows a red circle around the speed limit. It's done in ForScan. I have that, fogs on with high beam and no double honk when running while exiting the car with key in pocket.

Oh, that double honk feature drives me nuts, I need to get that done.

Reading more about it, it seems it's really not that hard and the adapters are $20ish... Might need to get it, especially considering wife picked up used F150, so I can use it for that too!

Fogs on with high beams is a software thing? Holy buckets, that's insane. I thought it was literally a switch thing, but I guess everything in cars these days goes through a PLC instead of physical switches?

Fog lights on with high beams is called "Bambi Mode", I enabled it with Forscan on my Mustang and F150.

So many things can be done with Forscan! Got very familar when I did MFT>SYNC3 swap and digital gauge cluster upgrade on my 2015 GT.
