OEM sound w/Resonator Delete?

This may seem like an odd request. I have to admit, I actually love the sound of the OEM exhaust. I have watched lots of videos of Resonator deletes, X-pipes, H-pipes, etc. All of them free up the exhaust for more power, and they ALL seem to change the exhaust note to a much louder exhaust.

What I'm wondering, is there a resonator delete kit that frees up the exhaust but keeps the volume and sound of the exhaust the same as the OEM? I'd like to eliminate that heavy resonator, but definitely don't want a louder exhaust.

Any ideas?

Any xpipe or hpipe will increase the sound over the stock resonator. I went with a resonated xpipe. The sound is exactly what I wanted. Check out CJ Pony Parts Magnaflow resonated xpipe as an example.

I put an H pipe resonator delete on my 2017 fairly soon after I bought it and I thought it sounded great. It was louder, barely, but had a better tone. Later I put on an ARH catback exhaust which is one of the quieter catbacks and it was quite a bit louder than the stock exhaust with H pipe.

Don’t expect a perceivable increase in power by deleting the resonator.

Don't expect much weight reduction when replacing the resonator, either. About the same as if you skip a meal or two.

I was speaking to the OP there. His best option by far is the resonated X-pipe that CJ PP sells, and you mentioned.

I already pulled the intake sound tube. The noise, and droning was driving me nuts. I love the sound of it the way it is. Not too quiet, not too loud. I would love to find a way to delete the resonator to svae a little weight, free up the exhaust a little, but keep the sound the same. I certainly don't want it any louder. Looks like there really isn't any way to do that. Oh well.

I checked that. After watching/listening to some videos on it, I think I'll just keep it the way it is. Everyone says it sounds great, but makes the exhaust noticeably louder than stock.

That's definitely not true. I've had it and the stock resonator with MUCH louder mufflers than stock behind them and it was barely louder than the resonator.

Best bet is to either leave it the way it is or get a X/H pipe that has no resonators. You don’t really gain power from exhaust outside of headers/cat deletes and adding a resonated pipe isn’t really cutting much weight.

Before putting my Roush AB on, I was running the CJPP MF resonated x pipe with the stock mufflers and it was honestly barely louder than stock (on the outside). Interior sound didn't change but the tone was much cleaner. It's definitely not going to make the car x pipe or h pipe loud.

Even with my Roush AB, it's tame.
