WTF no shifter just a little dial on the console that was the reason I wouldn't even take a test drive in a Edge ST and will be a reason I won't trade my GT350 in for a GT500 if you can't have a choice between paddles and shifting with a console shifter I have no interest in a GT500

You do have the choice of using the paddle shifters. I would prefer an actual shifter rather than a rotary shifter, but it is what is!

I have never owned anything other than Fords, wanted to get a Edge ST to replace my Focus ST. but when I saw the dial shifter I just walked away. Ended up buying a Porsche Macan GTS and one of the main reason I can manually shift it with the shifter or paddles. Sometimes it is much better to use the shifter.

This is Fords flagship model and deserves much better than that cheep peice of crap dial

Half the fun of driving my GT350R is rowing my own gears. It might be the old way, but in my opinion it's the best and only way to really feel connected to the car!

I'm curious if this dial style shifter will translate to the rest Mustang lineup for the 2020?

Am I the only not seeing the logic in buying an auto and then wanting to manually shifting it with shifter ?

Lol... not buying a car because there isn’t a “stick” within the center console to move around vs a “dial”...

Unfortunately and pretty soon, most vehicles are going to be all “push button” operated, it’s how the future of tech and automobiles is progressing, plus beancounters see that as a positive, reduces manufacturing costs of unnecessary parts...

Just chop off a broomstick handle, paint it black, put a white knob on and stick it to the center console next to the dial.... instant nostalgia... :cwl:

Family hauler, for now
I am pretty damn bummed there is no manual transmission option. I think the rest of the car is perfect. If the ZR1 can have a 7-speed manual in it's 755 HP LT5, then the GT500 can have the same transmission. Im hoping Ford decides to at least offer manual transmission as an option later on, perhaps in 2021 or so

I don’t mind the dial. I prefer the clean look, if it is a DCT. Paddles are where it’s at. Ha!

No worries, someone will buy the one you don't want.
