I would not be surprised to see a manual option down the road but this would not deter my purchase at all if I was in the market for one. I think this will put Ford in very good company.

its the same part as what's in the Ford GT supercar - I really didn't understand all the activity until I remembered I'm in 2019 and clickbait was a thing.

Same here. I don’t care how the selector works, the DCT is going to be a game changer.
exactly - I can't recall another performance-ish car that ships with a DCT + full factory warranty for under $85k besides the VW DSG in the GLI/GTI and the Porsche PDK in the base Boxter and Caymans...

Audi has had a DCT since at least 2011; they call it S-Tronic. It was last seen in the 2015 RS5 (71K msrp) and the 2016 R8 ($$$$). Prior to that the S4 had it, etc. The '19 TTRS ($66k) has it too.

'19 M4 also has DCT ($75). This kind of transmission isn't that uncommon nor only found on 100K+ cars.

It better be. I just learned of the retail cost from Ford Parts and Service and it is insane.

Make sure you are sitting down.

Just over $20,000, retail. No mention of a core, at this point anyway, because they simply aren't available (yet). Suddenly, those extended warranties from Ford look very appealing.

Based on the previous 5.8L GT500 engine, along with that of the 5.2L in the GT350, I think it is reasonable to assume the cost of the new 5.2L CPC will be well over $20,000. That puts just the engine and transmission alone for the 2020 GT500 at $40,000 minimum.

Insane. This is madness.

If a rotary shifter gives me a DCT in my GT500 - no problemo. At all. In fact, I’d learn to love it.

The rest of the car (ed. ignoring GT500 specific parts) is worth ~20k so maybe that's not so crazy after all.

The rest of the car is worth $30,000.

This is not a base ecoboost car.

Different front end, rear end, bigger brakes, wheels and tires and so on.
