When? Was neither standard nor optional in either 2009 or 2015 when I bought mine.FWIW: BMWs no longer come with manual remote start. (But they use to.)
Nor was it an option on my friends 2017 BMW.When? Was neither standard nor optional in either 2009 or 2015 when I bought mine.
Its sad how sheltered some become when lavished in warmth 24x365. LOL!Why would you want to start it up remotely?
I know my 2003 330ci (manual) had remote start. When? Was neither standard nor optional in either 2009 or 2015 when I bought mine.
Did you buy it new? All the threads I can find over on the BMW forums indicate that remote start was an aftermarket option that was a PITA to get installed and working properly.I know my 2003 330ci (manual) had remote start.
Yes, every car I have ever owned, I have ordered.Did you buy it new? All the threads I can find over on the BMW forums indicate that remote start was an aftermarket option that was a PITA to get installed and working properly.
I totally agree. However, I wouldn't use the word lavished if you're down here in August. LOLIts sad how sheltered some become when lavished in warmth 24x365. LOL!
Then you have every need for remote start. Just think. Remote start with an OAT of 90 and an RH of 85%. The AC kicks on at startup and cools the interior down, the cooled seats turn on make it easy on your balls and the little lady's coochie when you go to sit down on the charcoal leather seats (rather than fry both off), and the world is a gentler, happier, and better place because of it. So now you know why remote start would even suffice for a Floridian. LOL!I totally agree. However, I wouldn't use the word lavished if you're down here in August. LOL
Back in the summer of 90 we were sent to do 90 days of patrols in the Persian gulf, the inlet seawater temp was around 115 F. It was so hot in the engine room, we were restricted to only 2 hours on duty and 4 hours off. Never got to go any farther north than the Columbia river to go to Portland Ore. for the rose festival one year. When I was in Sun Diego, we used to go to a 24 hr burrito joint in Chula Vista for the best carne asada burritos I ever had, I think it was called Alberto's. Before I joined the Navy, I thought mexican food was taco bell, now I won't go anywhere that place, I wouldn't even feed that garbage to my dog.Personally having spent time in the middle of the Indian Ocean riding the equator in July as well as time in the Bearing Sea flirting with the Arctic Circle in October aboard a carrier, I've seen both extremes. I'll take the heat over the cold any day. The one thing I miss about living in San Diego is the climate......and Roberto's Carne Asada Burritos.
Brother we chewed some of the same seas together. I was at Miramar by the time 1990 rolled around.I did two tours in that pond, the Persian Gulf, and the Strait of Hormuz in 87 and again in 89 on Connie CV-64. Was Ships company for 3 years and there fighting the big fire in 88. I have eaten Carne Asada at that Albertos in Chula Vista but my fave was Romero's on Mission Blvd near Garnett in Pacific Beach. Like you I thought TB was mexican. Hated the crap until a buddy had me stop at one of those places one night for a Burrito. The smell made my mouth water. For 10 years after I got out in 1993 I would dream about being laid over in SD on a flight to a job site and would try to figure out a way to leave the airport rent a vehicle drive to PB for a Burrito and get back before missing my flight but could never pull it off. In 2003 I returned to SD for the decom of my old 1st SD home USS Constellation CV-64. As soon as i got my rental car I headed to Romero's just like in my dream. I made it this time and sat in the parking lot across from Mission Beach and ate both of them.Back in the summer of 90 we were sent to do 90 days of patrols in the Persian gulf, the inlet seawater temp was around 115 F. Take it from someone who used to live in Phoenix, remote start is not just for cold climates. I don't miss it on my mustang, it's just a toy and a convertible so I don't need it, but my new Explorer has the ford pass on it and I can remote start it from my phone anywhere in the country.
