I don't see this thread as moralizing so much as many people saying not to let sweating the small stuff ruin one's enjoyment of the car in whichever manner one chooses to do that.

I mean how many posts have I seen on here with a "Is my car okay?" with a video of a guy flailing his phone under the hood and up in the wheel well trying to figure out if the motor's about to ventilate? To me that is letting paranoia get the better of you. Garage Queen, daily driver or otherwise.

My car has the rattle like Holy Hell but I ignore it and drive on.....

I'm pretty new here and I don't want to get into a PISSING contest with anyone, but... I doubt that everyone else is posting opinions that they don't consider to be valid.

Note that I agree with your basic premise here. I say, to each their own. The difference seems to be that I apply that principle to posting on a forum like this as well. 999 times out of a thousand, I don't feel the need to "correct" someone's opinion -- just doesn't seem like my place.

Paranoia I get. Totally. Not everybody is up to snuff on these new cars, myself included. Heck it seems like just yesterday I’d pull and rebuild a SBC just to have something to do, but with these new cars I’m pretty much lost. But I see that as being way different from me saying you aren’t enjoying your car because you don’t use it the way I use mine, which is the way some recent posts turned.

Heck maybe I’m wrong. Maybe we should nominate a committee to formulate Rules Of Enjoyment, with which we’d all have to comply or be forced to sell our car.

An Internet car forum is probably not the place to go for rational behavior when it comes to caring for your car. So ... if you are here and reading this, then you are probably already beyond all hope, I know I am 🤪😀

I’ve only had my car for six weeks, have put 4300 miles on it, getting ready to head out on another long trip, and my biggest concern is how long will the tires last. Don’t get me wrong as I want it to drive and look great, but bugs and a few chips 😥😥😉 on the front are part of the cost of driving and enjoying a fun car!!! Took this picture yesterday on a nice fall drive here in the Colorado mountains.

Not only do you have great subject matter but your photo skills are amazing as well. Worth pointing out again!

The folks you describe, never enjoy the car and do not understand the car, or any car for that matter.

I know it doesn't matter, but now it's bugging me. I asked her why exactly she pointed it out to me.
Just wait till in a moment of weakness you point out that one part of her anatomy is not consistent left to right.

2nd toe I mean...

True but that’s what this thread was about initially.
well this thread was really about people buying a new car under warranty and worrying about every little thing while ford is still on the hook for it... but this is the way of the forum :D

Sometimes you have to drive the car till the engine blows up, spend months waiting for it to be fixed, so you can remember how lucky you are to have such a great car and realize how much you miss it. Can't wait to have my car driving again!

Hey guys i've been noticing something. So like, i get having that sweet new ride, parking it ten miles from anyone, and obsessing over its aesthetics to where maybe it might seem like you kind of have a problem. Makes sense, we're dudes and we geek out over new toys.

here's what i don't get. You just bought a car with a warranty and you're worrying about every little reading and sound. why? if the tpms doesn't work and frags a tire, dealer will fix it, if the motor blows, dealer fixes it, rinse and repeat.

here's all i'm saying... chill with that stuff and enjoy your sweet mother flippin cars.

Some like to save all the "good" in it for the 2nd owner. never understood this.
I always get a little sad when I see an all original car with silly low miles for sale or crossing the auction block.
Car was never enjoyed at least from driving it.

last night i took my dad for a ride in the car and for the first time saw the red line with an easy launch and a quick 1 2 3 pull. made his so happy it was rahtadded, worth every second. when i showed him what the car could do for braking it just about blew his mind.

he lives out in the sticks. I was able to haul my whole family out there in the mustang for a visit with the grandparents and great grama so after the sun set i killed about 100 thousand bugs.

100% worth it. these cars are the best. Drive.

Got my GT in June and already have 11k. When i ordered it, i intended it to be a weekend car, but before i took delivery an uninsured driver with a trailer totaled my old mazda 3 manual with 270k so the mustang is now my daily. That's okay though, as i always intended to drive it everywhere outside of work anyways, as i knew this thing would get me with the mustang bug big time. My old GT got me the same way, it just didn't feel as good as this one does when you mash the go pedal!

Also, 1 week after delivery, we went on a road trip and ended up driving through almost every state in the south, so by the time i had 1 month of ownership, it was time for that first oil change.

I believe in driving my mustang, and driving it the way it was built to drive, but if someone gets their enjoyment by garaging it and saving it for this special occasions, who am i to tell them otherwise!
