  1. Talk me into a centrifugal

Full disclosure, I'm not going to be boosting my car anytime soon, so grain of salt. But if i did, a centri is my preferred for one simple reason: I want a boost control kit, so i can dial up the boost when i actually need it, and I dont think any other belt driven superchargers do that (turbos...
  2. Well played, spider. 🕷️

For spiders who have wandered into inconvenient places, my wife always gets a piece of paper, puts it in front of them like its a free magic carpet ride AND THEN THEY GET ON! Like "oh thank you, dont mind if i do, its a bit stuffy here so a joy ride really sounds good." They get upgraded to...
  3. Emission Recall 23E12

Sounds like the port injection fuel supply line MIGHT "shed" fuel more than it is supposed to, IE none(ish). Not good for the environment, and might put some fuel in your engine bay in what i would assume is microscopic amounts. I wouldn't rush off to get it done if i had stuff to do (which is...
  4. Exhaust sound

It would also smell like rotten eggs if it was the cats going. From what you describe it sounds like a pinhole exhaust leak, maybe directly hitting some rubber somewhere. See if your tires dont have any mystery melting marks. Have you checked around your coolant lines? I suppose a pinhole in...
  5. Surprising highway fuel mileage

i found that out soon after getting my 6 speed! One particular leg heading towards the SC coast I got 27-28 mpg. Averaged 24-25 on other tanks on that trip. I was floored! What really continues to amaze me, is that i get 18-20 when i drive it spiritedly, didn't expect that at all! Same driving...
  6. 1st Manual Car

There's one thing i know how to test. Put it in a high gear like 5th or 6th around 40 to 60 mph, then floor the gas. If the rpms dont raise consistent with the speedo, like if the tach raises up a few rpm faster than the speedo gains in speed comparatively, then the clutch is slipping. It should...
  7. 10-12k Over Oil Change, am I screwed?

For 1 time, you are fine. We ran out fiestas 1.6 to 10k every change, 15 once, and the transmission crapped the bed long before the engine had any issue at all, bout 130k. Powershift Dual Clutch, so we knew it was coming. 11k its barely over that, you'll be fine and we didn't even ensure it...
  8. Sport Mode No Longer Active

    Okay sweet, thanks!
  9. Sport Mode No Longer Active

Ah good point! I forgot all about MyKey, thats something for the OP to check on! Maybe their other key fob behaves normally!
  10. Sport Mode No Longer Active

Too bad its your last, I was gonna ask if you ever see two S's when toggling through the drive mode menu. It sounds like it could be a no from your answer but i wanted to confirm. Think that would answer the last question i have on how this works in an auto. I only ever test drove an automatic...
  11. Sport Mode No Longer Active

Heres a snip from the manual for my 22 FWIW. It looks like Sport is triggered by putting it on S, Sport+ is accessed through the menu. I'm not sure if sport is a seperate option in that menu or not, since i dont have sport because manual. But it does look like it isnt available when the shifter...
  12. Sport Mode No Longer Active

Yep, as mentioned, sport is not a driving mode in that menu all the time, but instead activated by putting the gear shifter in S from D. You only see Sport+ toggling through that menu in D. I have a manual car, so I dont have a Sport mode at all, just Sport+. This is how I read the manual anyways.
  13. People flashing lights at nighttime.

Not too often, but its definitely because of the brighter LEDs in use today, which includes our cars. Flashing my brights usually lets them know that I'm not brighting them and they lay off.
  14. Lost for words

I'm amused you think talking to them would lead to a news story, but shooting being revenge for something being accidental is your issue with number 2. It's pretty clear number 2 is an emotional response, thats how i would FEEL. I would absolutely go talk to them. Bullets are hitting your...
  15. Lost for words

Boo! Three things hit my mind. 1. My county limits shooting to properties with 10 or more acres. This is why I'm good with that, even though it excludes my place. 6 acres is simply not big enough, especially if people are being careless like this. 2. I would have a hard time not doing a little...
  16. Accurate bass from the trunk

There are definitely some good threads on here, with lots of good info on the specifics for this car, as the connections game will be a bit different then you remember. LOCs are not the preferred method to get signal from HU to amp. I had a amp and sub in my old car, haven't got one or put in...
  17. Tire Age ?

Right? I replaced my first 2 (well, first 2 due to tread, not road hazard) couple months back. About 30k on em after a little over a year, and i do like my spirited driving.
  18. How do i find out my previous owner?

Not sure about IL, but i know Texas list the previous owner on the title. Due to fraud, we had to contact the last owner of the last car my wife bought and did so after doing some digging to convert the name and address into a phone number. That guy was cool, and was very understanding...
  19. Well hell I tried - Interior chrome delete

That pretty cool! Thank you for doing this! I was wondering what itd look like with no chrome in there shortly after delivery, and this answers it for me, i now know that i personally like the chrome better. So that isn't helpful to you, but it was to me, so thank you for that! I would say go...
  20. Looking to buy a V6 mustang with mt82

I don't have a v6 fwiw, but the issues were not engine specific as far as understand. It's not like the coyote v8 is overpowering it, it just has some specific issues and quirks within the transmission itself. With 100k I'd ask if it's the stock clutch, and know your in for a clutch job at some...
