As some of you may know, I’ve been trying to bring an oil filter guide for the M1 to life for quite some time. The purpose of this 3d printed piece is to guide the oil out from the oil filter during an oil change to the trap door with minimal mess. We’ve had huge success with the gt350/gt500 crowd. Unfortunately, the person who had been planning on letting me borrow the car for 2 days this fall can no longer let me get my hands on the car till spring. This is a group effort by @Gearz and I. The plan was to have @Gearz fly to me in the Indianapolis area so we could design and rapid prototype together over a weekend (with the car sitting on the lift and never leaving my garage.) The owner is welcome to hang with us for a few days…. Drinking good bourbon, eating steak, and working on the car.

If anyone could be incentivized to drive to Indianapolis (I’ll provide another car for you to drive and a hotel), or if there’s someone in the KC area, please let me know. Otherwise…. This thing is never going to happen.

Thanks everyone!

I'm in the Cleveland area, but right now I'm daily driving mine because my explorer is down waiting on parts, been 3 weeks so far and ETA on the part is Oct 24-maybe. I do have a week of vacation the week of Halloween so if you don't get anyone else by then maybe I can drive down to Indy, it's only about 4-4.5 hrs away.

Hey, so many moons ago. Someone was selling oil guides that they 3d printed on here. You should look around for some of their posts. I'll try and dig through my post history to find it. Guy sold it for like 20$. I used it for years till I found out about this bendable silicone mats that I use to guide the oil from filter to the pan. With no spillage on the cv boot or wire harness.

The hero we need :)

Thanks for the offer. Hopefully there’s someone closer who could help out, but otherwise I wouldn’t say no!

Right now we’re targeting Nov 10-12.

Thanks for suggesting that. I think you’re talking about the PP1 oil filter guide that someone made 4’ish years ago. If that’s the one you’re referring to, we originally started with his design to see if we could improve upon it. Most people who used it said it was great until it slipped out of the way with the slightest movement (spilling oil everywhere.). We couldn’t improve upon that idea in a meaningful way. If it’s not going to stay put 100% of the time, I don’t view it being worthwhile to use.

Would :inlove: to see this happen. The tin foil taken from my hat :crazy:to temporarily make guides has been getting rather messy. :giggle:

Jon, Im in the KC area. What would this involve if you came this way? That weekend wont work for me cause thats the opening weekend of deer season and I will be gone. Other weekends could work depending on the plan. My car is on Cup 2s so I cant drive it much by the end of Nov. Also I am gonna do my first oil change around then as well. Though I did order an Oil Udder for now as I was waiting on your product.

The fill funnel worked great on my 6.2 F250!

My friends are the ones who developed/make the oil udder. Definitely a vast improvement when getting the filter off of a truck.

Man….. if I took you through the rollercoaster it’s been on my side you wouldn’t believe me. The delays 95% stem from me not owning a Mach 1, the other 5% from the precarious position the oil filter is in. Finding a hold-down mechanism proved to be too hard when only being able to test on a donor car every other month, and almost never in person, only via FaceTime or pictures. Then we’ve been ghosted several times…. Lots of broken promises…. Anyhow, not 100% our fault.

Thanks for hanging in there!

Is the Mach 1 different than a GT in this regard? If not, don't forget I'm just down the road from you.

Thanks for the offer, but the Mach 1 belly pan is indeed different from all versions of the GT, including the PP1 and PP2

Yup. Slightest wiggle and it would slip out. That's why I just moved to the bendable long silicone pad. It's like 2 feet long and 1 foot wide and stays in the form you mold it to. Great stuff so far.
