Anyone know or try out the ford performance oil filter yet on their Mach 1?

M6731FL820 is the part number. Says it fits multiple engines on pretty much every 1996-2022 mustangs.
Just curious before I’m due for mine and want to upgrade to full synthetic oil and a better filter.

Not really any point unless you like spending extra money. Its mostly just a bit more filtering material in a thicker housing.

If you're making oil changes when you should with a decent quality oil, there isn't reason to spend money over the normal Motorcraft filter, nor is there really a reason to spend money on anything other than Motorcraft oil.

People have 'preferences', but it has next to 0 impact overall other than how much money you're paying out over the life of your car on maintenance.

I just prefer to run royal purple in anything like this regardless of the fact if I do track the car at all or not. Doesn’t bother me to spend a couple extra bucks knowing I’m putting better performing fluids or parts in any vehicle or machine as I also run royal purple in my R6.

But its not really performing any better unless you've done regular oil test to find out if they are. And even if they are, and if you have another Mach1 with another oil in it to compare against that is driven exactly the same way, you'll never know. When have you ever seen a person have to have an engine tear down due to oil that wasn't due to either not running enough oil or just never changing it.

Thats why I mentioned 'preferences'. You gain nothing quantitative, just the sense that you're buying what you see as "better", at the expense of your wallet. If your engine ends up with issues from some wear at 180K you will NEVER know if you could have maybe gone 200K on another oil brand or not.
