Until the m2 gets a single turbo… then its a even race

BMW has an upgrade tune they sell to normal M2s to add like 70 whp for $700. He's been looking at doing that or a JB4 piggy back for like a bit more power, mostly because of the cost of a custom tune on them. But, after his best friend who has a built motor 5th gen camaro with a big single turbo and a 6 speed manual, and now me supercharging he's like " I guess a custom tune with a bunch of upgrades aren't THAT expensive"....LOL

Depends on if they wanna build motor, if its an m2 or m2 comp, and the power they want. Single makes it safer to run higher top end boost, easier on engine internals, its what i would do if i had an m2. I have a 07 335i with a big single, cars a blast to drive and currently id say its pretty even with my mustang, if not faster

Mainly depends on what hp level he wants to go, vs how much money he wants to dump into it

He's got the money, just been down the heavily modded hotrod road a few times and is kind of over the "racecar" problems. That is the real reason that he's hesitant to do deeper than a tune.

Bolt ons and tune and he's in there. Fast and reliable.

Yeah the S58 is no joke. With an unlocked DME you can get 200+ HP from a downpipe, tune, and E50. I know one locally running the same setup on a G80 M3 and is a luxury rocket.

yep same, as we have a bright yellow(ish) M4 out here that is a destroyer of souls on the freeway… in Mexico

Working on pulling the M2 away from work/family for a half hour or so this weekend for a rematch!
Also working on getting a buddy with an 03 Terminator making 676whp for a few pulls. This being old and everyone having busy schedules makes this hard to get a few buddies together.

Cousin brought the M2 out Sunday. Didn't tell me that he had done the 70whp tune from BMW. I'm on low timing for bad 91. Running multiple tanks of 93 from Buc-ee's before I send another log to Wengerd. We ended up dead even from a 50-135 roll. He was by himself(160 lbs) and I weigh 260 and had a 180lb passanger.

lol, nice…lose the passenger, clean out your trunk, mix in some e85 to get e30, and run him again

I'll be running him again when I get a revised higher timing tune. Headers without kitties soon! Passenger is the camera man, I'm fine with the extra weight as it won't matter when I get up to proper timing.

That A10 keeps it in the sweet spot. If you were a manual, he'd have edged you ever so slightly at every gear change.

Yeah, same could be said for him if he had the manual. Both chose the auto. Final gearing, transmission, and tire size put our sweet spots at different speeds.
