Mustang winter drivers

As regards slop protection, I bought Weather Tech mats, as I was very happy with the set we had put in our Rogue. I noted that there was a small amount of salt stain in the left rear corner of the driver's side last spring. I figured that it was the retainer, which is two pieces and not sealed, so this past fall I cleaned up the mat really good and took pried the retainers apart and put a nice bead of silicone around the inside of each top piece and put them back together and installed them in the car. Then I wiped up any excess around the top. Hoping that keeps any slop water from getting down underneath. The only other complaint I have about them is that the portion that covers the dead pedal is too short, it only goes up about 2/3 of the way, and for another few pennies worth of material, they could've made it so it fully covered the dead pedal.

No. I live out in the country off a dirt road with holes big enough (summer it gets filled in) to knock the rims off my car at anything over 10 mph. Mine is lowered also. Lowering doesn't play well snow covered dirt roads. I have a truck for the winter. Cost me like $7000 and I can beat the shit out of it.

I drive mine more in the winter when there is less chance the tires will melt or catch fire if stopped too long at a light.

I think the dry performance of the A/S 3+ is phenomenal - great braking, acceleration and turning grip. Immediate response to steering inputs. Good in the wet too. Meh in the snow but good enough with careful driving. A bit more compliance than the stock Cup 2 tires. My biggest complaint would be they are a bit noisy - nothing terrible but you definitely hear them. I’m running 285/35 R19 on all 4 wheels.

I have a set of 275/35-20 all around I use for daily driving in the summer, definitely had to get snow tires though because I would get stuck going up the driveway in the slightest snow

Assuming you have the OEM 20” wheels with a 9” rim, the 285/35 R20 A/S 3+ is off the table - it needs a 9.5” minimum rim. My understanding is the OEM 20” setup was a square 265/35, so I’d go with @rs3kev and put on a square setup of 275/35. This increases the tread width to 10.0” - a nice improvement over the 8.7” tread width on the OEM P Zeros. The section width is 10.9” - only 0.2” more than the OEM PZeros so it should fit. Also the 275/35 A/S 3+ Has the same XL load range and a slightly higher service description of 102Y so it is plenty capable. If you don’t want a square setup, the 255/35 is a decent front choice - 9.3” tread width with an XL load rating- but the 97Y service description is a bit less capable than the stock tire rating of 99Y.

I drove mine today. I try not to drive it in the snow or if there is salt on the ground but it was so cold this last few days I had to drive it. Its the first car I've owned with a heated steering wheel and the heated seats really work well. I was surprised how well the computer helps the car handle on wet/icy pavement. I purposely drove one of my other rear wheel cars afterwards for comparison, the Mustang handled way better than I would have thought
