When it comes to winter, I have several excellent microfiber towels from The Rag Company and use Optimum Industries No Rinse Wash and Shine (ONR) and follow that up with the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic sealant. the TW is suppose to last 6 months on one application and 12 on two. So far, I have washed my car several times. I put one gallon of hot water in a bucket and 2 capfuls of ONR and submerge some Eagle Edgeless 600 towels in it. Using some of the gallon of solution in a spray bottle and pretreat the surface. I then take one of he soaking towels and fold the towel twice and wipe in one direction only. After each wipe, I check to see if it is dirty. If it is, I expose a clean section. One towel will have 8 sections when folded in half twice. I use between 2-3 towels on the Mustang. I then use their Double Twistress drying towel (2-3 of them) to dry the car followed up with the Turtle wax ceramic sealant. So far, it has been outstanding.

None of the car washes by me on Long Island have a DIY or touchless wash and with the PP2 extra wide wheels, it just won't fit in most of them anyway. Maybe now that I have winter wheels and 275/35 tires, it can. Once car wash was worried that it could be too low to fit. they have a min clearance of 5 inches. I know, the PP2 is 5.25" and the regular GT is 5.75" but who wants to tempt fate.

the photos I have posted are after ONR washes and TW application in below freezing temps.

The funny thing is, it only takes me a 1/2 hour to an hour to do. I even use the ONR on the wheels. With the hot water, I do not even feel the cold and you use so little water that you really do not get wet. I think my non winter washing takes several hours longer. Power wash, foam cannon, wash mitt, clay bar, polish, sealant, wax, tire wash, tire shine, and all. It takes a while to get my girl ready for the ball.

No, just find that it stays cleaner and is easy to clean if you clean it regularly. I also leave some Meguiar's No Touch quick detailer in the trunk for the occasional bird strike or dirt spray.

Just love the car. I feel a clean car will be a long lasting car.

I hate seeing bird shits on my car. Gotta use my spit to get them off right away. Your way is much better though lol.

Ahhhhh, a sponge bath. I would correlate the sealant to a mani-pedi and call it a nice day at the spa for your car, but that would probably be going a little too far for a chuckle.

I'm surprised that the TW can be applied in such low temperature. Is that common for most ceramic sealants?

I was "asleep at the wheel" so to speak, by the time I realized it was time for the pre-winter wax job, it was already too cold to apply the product (according to Meguire's) and I didn't want to risk putting a layer of "who knows what would happen" on the car.

Luckily for me I can usually find a weekend here and there throughout the winter where it isn't below freezing and just wash my car as normal. The biggest problem is I still can't bring myself to spend a few hours setting up, washing, clearing up just to have it snow or rain within the next day or so... A few times I've done it anyway just because I really wanted to get the road muck off it so it would be Ruby Red again. It seems to collect smog and such, kinda of like how meat collects smoke in a smoker... When I pre-rinse I can see it in the rinse water as it drains off and down the driveway. Ewww.

Mee too on the Meguire's and microfibers in the trunk. Damn birds...

Whenever possible I don't park under trees or next to grass (in case the sprinklers come on).

what the size of you tires? how good and bad A/S 3+ ? Im between couple of brands.
I think the dry performance of the A/S 3+ is phenomenal - great braking, acceleration and turning grip. Immediate response to steering inputs. Good in the wet too. Meh in the snow but good enough with careful driving. A bit more compliance than the stock Cup 2 tires. My biggest complaint would be they are a bit noisy - nothing terrible but you definitely hear them. I’m running 285/35 R19 on all 4 wheels.

I'm getting a set of these this spring. I just bought my car in september and still had the oem zero nero on it which at some points felt like I was driving on ice.....in the summer lol. Going to be ditching the CS rims for 19" black Project-6GR 10 spoke rims. I'm probably going for 275 all around. 285s have a largish price jump here for some reason over the 275
