Mostly when shifting down into 3rd, it feels like I'm having to push over something. LIke something isn't lined up correctly. It happens from time to time going from 2nd to 3rd, but mostly going down to 3rd. Doesn't happen all the time, and it doens't make any noise that I can hear. I'm about to install a supercharger in the coming weeks so maybe I'm being too critical. This only notice this under normal acceleration or decceleration, WOT it's fine.

Anything I should worry about?

You should be fine if you don’t intend to drag race or drive it aggressively. That may be hard to abstain from with the SC though. Are you upgrading the clutch to handle the extra power from the SC?

I get that feeling sometimes. When shifting into 3rd don't force it, hold and wait at the gate for the synchro's to do their job. The MT82 is a picky little bitch.

It's fairly normal, same story here. If there's no audible grind, you're not hurting anything. Just feeling the synchro working. I think it has to do with the alignment of the shifter. My car is similar to yours, WOT shifts feel butter smooth with zero resistance. But the torque is throwing the whole motor and trans backward under full throttle.

If you want further reassurance, I dropped my trans fluid out at 17,500 miles to swap in some Motul DCTF (and remove the factory fill and any break in material), and the fluid was absolutely spotlessly clean of any contaminants. And my car has had those "nibbles" since I picked it up with 10 miles.

I had the nibble upshifting into third. Especially on a cold trans. I just gave it a bit of time and let the synchros do their thang.

Then, i did the SS clutch line, Barton Hybrid 3 shifter, BMR engine mounts, Boomba trans mount, cf driveshaft, replaced trans fluid with Redline, and went up some weight in the rear diff fluid.

Still gets that nibble!! Lmfao!! On drain, there was no concerning debris or metallic sheen. So, it's just the nature of the beast with the MT82D4.

Something to pay attention to is how your hand/arm is oriented. Something I've noticed (at least with mine) is that shifting, especially into 3rd, is a crap shoot if my arm is at an angle (like if something is in the cup holder). I was getting locked out at high rpm too and was worried the trans was on the way out. Nope, just finicky.

So now if I plan to do any aggressive shifting I make sure everything is out of the cup holders. After using the transmission somewhat aggressively the harder shifts actually feel a lot smoother now; as opposed to when I was babying it and waiting for the gear to grab for a smoother shift into the gate.

I would occasionally get 3rd gear lockout on spirited runs. Got the MGW shifter and all 3rd gear lockout is gone. I do now have 1 - 2 lockout when attempting myself or with the launch control. I've heard that the lockout is pretty much needing a clutch upgrade that Ford has been compliant with for aftermarket clutches. I have not even attempted getting the reverse lockout adjust as of yet. I'm thinking that I'll wait until the clutch upgrade to see what happens and adjust it then if needed. Also, thought about checking all of my motor and transmission mounts. Any suggestions?

I found that too....seems to shift like butter at higher rpms...and finicky just tooling around town. Sometimes its ratchety...other times smooth. I'll live with it since I'm not drag racing or tracking it. Eventually I figure out what it needs 😀

The factory motor mounts contain fluid. Unless there are signs of a visible leak, there’s nothing to do there except make sure they’re tight. Same with the transmission mount. There is a hollow void thst can be filled with an insert to stiffen things up a bit. I installed a Whiteline mount in mine until recently, when I upgraded to a Boomba mount. I also installed Steeda adjustable motor mounts at 472 miles on the odometer. I still experienced lockout at the track. I am now believing more and more that the clutch may be a contributing factor.

Clutch and transmission mods will be coming soon.

Try installing the Full Tilt Boogie solid OEM shifter mount.

I didn’t even know Full Tilt had such a mount. Does it work with aftermarket shifters? I currently have the Steeda Tri-ax race shifter with stiff springs, as well as the clutch spring.

Doubt it. The Full Tilt bracket bolts up to the bottom of the OEM shifter where circled:
