I don’t know the answer but does metal get more brittle the colder it is? That’s my only question/consideration about freezing.

I’m not sure either in this situation. I may have to consider putting. Stress relief cut down the entire side of the gear, while being careful not to go through to the shaft. Maybe then I can throw it back in the shop press and it should let go. Of course, I’m always open to other options too.I don’t know the answer but does metal get more brittle the colder it is? It sure seems to be headed in that direction. Brittle gears being pressed off just like the service manual says and teeth began popping off and flying across the garage. I’m glad I wear safety glasses because a few of the teeth took off like bullets being fired from a gun.Can't wait for the next gen MT-82 with 3D printed plastic gears! ;)
Thank you very much for that info.! I had the feeling the Ford parts guy that I spoke with yesterday wasn’t trying to be as helpful as he could.I just had 2nd, 3rd, and 5th replaced on my 2018. The RO lists out these part numbers for the gears. I searched parts.ford.com and added those links too.
