MT-82 Question

Asking this question for opinion from those with more experience with MT-82's.

Last week, changed Trans fluid with BG products. Everything good-no metal flakes, normal trans noise. etc. Noticed the other day at moderate acceleration, picking up whine in 1st and 2nd gear. Can't really tell through higher RPM range due to engine/SC sound.

Is it possible, due to overfill, picking up NVH? No other whine or grinding in any gears. Have never jumped hard on the car from a dig. Mostly going WOT on rolls.

Are you sure you’re not hearing gear whine from the rear end? If so, that’t normal, especially if you’ve installed some polyurethane or aluminum differential bushing inserts.

Why do you think you may have overfilled it? If need be, you can carefully remove loosen the drain plug and keep pressure on it while you unscrew it snd drain a little.

No real chance of overfilling the tranny fluid if you had the car relatively level, it will drain anything past just right amount of fluid. It wouldnt cause nvh either, i have poly tranny mount and i hear a small barely noticable gear whine at highway driving, seems normal from what i hear

Mine was overfilled from the factory.......no leaks or noises just ran out a little when I installed a magnetic fill plug........magnetic drain plug is next when I drain the OEM stuff next oil change!
