Is $5k the normal deposit? I had to put $20k deposit down to order mine. It’s kinda depressing because I could have used the extra to make some interest off of while I wait until next spring to get the car most likely.
Not sure they told me the owner wanted 5k down before they would order the car. I know of one guy that was able to order one for 1k down. I think it really depends on the dealership but agree with you the 20k down seems very steep to me.

20k down sounds more in line with bay area prices. I got my mustang back in 2013 from Frontier Ford. During that same time they had a GT500 for $87k, yup a fully optioned GT500 ($65k) was in the showroom selling for $87k. I think it sat for a year.
I have no doubt that same dealership wants 20k adm maybe even more.

A lot of the dealers don't cash the deposit checks, I was given the check back when I paid for the (2013) car. The same thing happened with another dealer that wasn't able to get a (2014) allocation.
After a dealership asking for a $20,000 deposit and does not end up depositing the check would be some sort of a revelation especially when a $15,000 ADM is involved.

If I was a betting man this dealership will be depositing the $20,000 check in question.

I almost bought a 2012 Kona Blue GT500 from Frontier Ford and they were discounting the heck out of it at the time. I ended up ordering a 13 from a local dealer.

Interesting poll. Nice to see people got deals. I will be waiting. I'm am 95% sure that there are no S.FL deals on this list...and if they are, they must be sleeping with the dealer lol (I kid) Most of the dealers down here are busting a gut on how much ADM to charge. I think they are actually trying to see who can get the most.

The check was definitely cashed lol. I’m in Louisiana and it is $15k ADM on all 350s and 500s across the board. Two separate Ford dealerships in town and both have same markups.

That is what I thought based on a $20,000 deposit.

Do you have to pay sales tax on the $15,000 ADM or will your dealership do a cash deal for the ADM at the time of delivery?

We are still talking about that part because the sales tax here is 10%. With a MSRP $110k and ADM $15k and tax/title/fees it’s an expensive car for sure.

Dang I would pull out and look else where. Unless off course, you dont mind paying that much and dont wanna deal with the hassle of calling hundreds of dealers.

No I am good with the cost. I originally saved the money up to buy a ZR1 but when I seen the GT500 I knew right away that was the car I wanted. It is more visually appealing to me than the ZR1 and the performance is good as well. I don’t really care about the zero-60 like most, if I want to go fast zero-60, I’ll drive my wife’s Tesla lol.

I like the ZR1 too, but as ive said many times: I'm going to laugh my ass of if this car is quicker in the 1/4 mile than a ZR1!

Dont complain about your taxes if you haven't voted with your feet yet. I left NJ for DE and live like a king here.

Yes, a very expensive purchase for sure especially if all options are selected included the CFTP and OTT Painted Stripes option but unless I have miscalculated the most expensive GT500 that I come up with would be $107,080 and not $110,000 as you have indicated.

If you were just rounding up numbers then that is another story?

Good luck with your new GT500 going forward.

A lot of the dealers don't cash the deposit checks,
check your state laws. Some require the dealership to PAY you the prevailing interest rate (which admittedly has been bupkis for a decade now) should it be returned.
