I drive mostly in S Sport mode, so much better response in every way possible. I put the shift lever in S Sport mode and go.

If I am just puttering around town in traffic then I use normal D drive.

2500 miles so far on a brand new 2016 ecoboost, no problems yet, I did pay heed to the 1500 mile break-in period, since then the engine has gotten must smoother and quicker.

Terry :)

Did you buy a GT already?
Yea made the trade last night

http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50543

LOL Do you know how many EBMs have been sold? You panicked because of a handful of cases on this forum? Yikes
For my build date and the mods I had, I just decided the risk of a blown engine wasn't worth it. I'd rather get a GT than end up waiting until it's too late and have to get a $6k engine. I was already going to do it an a couple years anyway.

I was fine with like the first 4 customer cars but it turned into being able to easily identify like 7 forum members whose engines had let go

Well it's no secret most with the Ecoboost would rather have a GT....I did at first but I got to much money in the car at this point to trade in for a car that will have lesser power haha

have you been reading the threads here? Over the past 3-4 weeks every other thread was about the "epidemic" of blown ecoboosts with all types of speculation and claims. Recently those threads ahve been getting moved out of here but lots of people immediately dumped their cars for GT's, V6's, or other cars all together. I'm glad to see them all moved on so we can get back to the point of this section... engine/exhaust/bolt-on modifications for the EcoBoost.

This was my exact thinking. There ended up being one blown engine too many for me to put up with. Hopefully in the next couple months we're able to nail down what exactly is happening with the early production cars
I'm not convinced it is early production cars. We don't know of any difference yet. There are just more 15s with more miles. I think when the problem is figured out, it will be figured out for all of them.

Most, not all, If Someone were to give me a GT right now, I'd sell it and buy a built engine, and big turbo, aux fuel system and Pocket the remaining 20-25k.

I may be in the minority, but I could have afforded a GT, I just didn't want one. I've been an import guy all my life and the EB fits me.

I agree with all of you however that if you bought this car because it is a "Mustang" You should have gotten the V8.

Shit, my blowing up didn't make me change my mind. Yes it sucks. But that's what happens when you push the limits. Gotta pay to play. Only thing i like bout the GT is the sound, that's about it. When i get the car back, Ill break it in with an IC, CC and Exhaust. Then after that. All hell breaks loose again. Lol. Everyone is being such babies when it comes to this shit.. Oh no! My eco blew up! Gotta get a plain ol GT cause i know that wont blown, news flash, The 5.0s have had issues too! Lol.

Agreed! I was going to trade mine in for A GT but then thought do I really want another slow, loud, heavy, gas guzzling v8? Higher insurance, 1/4 of the gas mileage and a dime a dozen... Hmmm NO THANKS!! I laugh every time I walk away from them at the track and on the highway :) Laugh even more now that it costs me like $18 to fill my tank with E85!

I abused the crap out of mine, hot lapped it at the dragstrip every chance I got last year. Had nights I went out and made 10-15 passes on the car, dang have a dozen 11-second passes from the same night hahaha... I've got a box of time slips and never had a single issue, popped the hood just to change oil. Pump gas, FMIC, cat-back and TUNE+ (stock turbo, intake, dp, etc)

Must be nice to have 7 grand to burn without a care in the world. Most are not as fortunate. 5.0 issues are much more rare after the first 2011 engines.

Thats the point of pay to play you shoulld stay stock and under warranty if you cant afford the worse case scenario. These threads are pointless because the OP isnt going to disclose all the facts and the tuner is never going to take responsibillity. Im in no way saying Adam is to blame so you fanboys dont go sending me death threat pms, Im just saying NO tuner is going to openly admit fault. People just need to enjoy their cars

Maybe so. I think most people just had more faith that the car could withstand basic bolt-ons without blowing up. Not talking about swapping on big turbos.
