Just an FYI, those wheels on a mach 1 come in non HP sizes. They are 19x9.5 F and 19x10 R with PP1 sized tires, 255/40 F and 275/40 R

I am also biased - I have a Grabber Blue '23 M1 with the HP package (and Tremec). Should you test drive one of these, and you see it has the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires (305 front/315 rear) - you WILL most likely find the car will tram line on some roads. It was the one item I found that bugged me a bit. However I have now switched out the tires to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Tram lining is almost completely gone with the switch. My son has a GT350, and he drove my M1 and was shocked at the improvement as he still has the cup 2 tires.

Hi all, owner of a '14 Brembo/3.73 GT in Grabber Blue here. If I'm able to, I'd like to purchase either a Mach1 or a PP2, either of them preferably in Grabber Blue or Orange. I will not be tracking the car, so let's get that out of the way early.

As best as I can tell, the biggest difference between the two is the transmission, which would be the MT-82 in the PP2 or the Tremec in the Mach1.

I realize this is the Mach1 forum, but would still like to hear objective opinions on the subject. Which Mustang would you guys recommend? Again, this car would be mainly for cruising and having non-track fun.
I owned a 2019 kona blue PP2. I traded it for a 2022 grabber blue mach1 that i still have. Take the Mach 1 all day long!!

I've had both.
.
Tremec is light-years better. No brainer if you are going manual.

Gents, I appreciate the replies. For clarification, I knew PP2s weren't available in Grabber Blue, but my post didn't make that clear. I meant to say a Grabber Blue Mach1 would be my first choice of a Mach1, but an orange M1 or an orange PP2 would be fine as well.

If I had to narrow it down to two choices, they would be a Grabber Blue Mach1 with the PP2 wheels (HP or not), or an orange PP2 with chrome pony and 5.0 badges.

I have test driven a few PP2s and I know what they are. I have not test driven a Mach1 yet, so I don't know how it compares.
Orange Fury would be your orange option for PP2. Very cool and underrated color IMO. Twister Orange would be your orange option for the Mach, also a very cool color.

I’ve not driven a PP2 but I have driven a Mach and it’s a huge difference from my GT (non-PP). I’ve since kicked around the idea of trading my GT for a Mach, but haven’t fully committed to it yet.

The additional coolers on the Mach plus other good bits from the Shelby’s make it a really good value. I personally would go that route over a PP2, especially if you’re thinking about taking it out on track. Nothing wrong with a PP2 but they are harder to find. A fair amount of dealers don’t even know what they are

I own a 2020 GT w/ PP1 and magneride and I'd choose Mach 1 for the Tremec transmission alone. Not a fan of the graphics on the Mach1 but what can you do.

I was thinking about this as I recently heavily modified the suspension of my Mach 1. Would it have been easier to just take a GT and done the suspension along with some other visual cues, but the trans is the big piece here. And from that standpoint I would lean towards the Mach 1 if you are going manual. The trans is awesome!

Also, the PP2 does not have the oil, trans & diff coolers. Not an issue for a street driver, you only need those on hot track days.**

Even the non HP Mach 1 has these. And, I agree, the PP2 is MUCH rarer car. But, that said, the Mach 1 is more car for sure.

**I seem to recall that the GT350 diff oil cooler is available in kit form & is a 'plug & play' item for non-Shelby Mustangs. As for the engine oil cooler, does anyone know if the GT350 cooler could be adapted to the PP2 by changing out brackets/hoses (or ???) to make the larger cooler fit?

Just an FYI ... https://www.caranddriver.com/review...ck-level-2-vs-2019-ford-mustang-shelby-gt350/

The Mach 1 has a unique charm. It’s like the Mustang guys at Ford got together and raided the S550 parts bins for all the Shelby pieces from two different Shelby’s and said wouldn’t it be cool if…..

As for the transmission argument, I have driven a Bullitt (Exact same engine configuration as the Mach 1 with an MT 82) and while I loved it, the gearing on the MT82 D4 is a bit long for me. It drives great though. The Tremec WAS the deciding factor for me, I wanted a manual and knew it had to be the Tremec...

If price is not taken into account then obviously the M1 is a better choice.

But here in Canada the price difference between PP2 and M1 is ~$15k CAD (~$10k USD), no way in hell M1 is worth that much more, just like Dark Horse is not worth that much more than the M1. Might as well go to a GT350 if paying that much more.

Not sure what is the price difference in US though.
