Update: now a build thread or what I would really call documenting our Mach 1 mods and ownership experience.

Canceling my 2022 order and just picked up Mach 1 M6150 today! It’s a ‘21, Tremec, 700A, FJG duh, elite with upgraded wheels. I rented a car and drove 6 hours to pick it up from a dealer in Northern Ohio where it has sat given the weather up there. Plans are a nice weekend and road trip car as well as the occasional autocross. By chance today Fed Ex delivered my GT350R front sway bar, HP frt and rear springs, HP rear sway bar, adjustable strut mounts, front fender lip, and rear tire spats. ARP studs are on order along with a 25mm OP spacer and 4, 19x11’s. Due to driveway clearance I’ll probably leave the front splitter off. Other parts waiting include FP oil separator, jacking rails, x-pipe, hood struts and floor mats.

Congrats! Definitely on the tail end of 21 builds. Enjoy it. They're a blast.

Nice! Did they deal? MSRP? ADM?

$2k below MSRP, so no ADM and virtually no fees. My old order with a local dealer I was told X-plan and the dealer obviously made a mistake as I later found out the Mach 1 is excluded from X-plan. It became unclear if they would honor it and communication wasn’t the best. Besides supply chain that’s my other driver for pushing to this car-uncertainty that they wouldn’t screw me when my car came in. I like working on cars and now I get to learn more about the S550 suspension. Pretty much going straight to the HP setup, but except upgrading the front sway bar to a 350R. FJG was my second color choice so this worked out perfectly.

This is a smaller dealer (they have 2 locations) and the salesman told me this is only the 2nd Mach 1 at their location, the first was a HP car that was gone the day it showed up. They have a Mach 1 or two at their other location right now I believe, but they might be auto’s.

Congrats from another Mach 1 owner, and be patient during those first 1000 miles of break-in , the siren song at full chat is worth the wait, and the Mach really has the " Speed of Sound. " It breaks the Sound barrier every time you drive it -- glorious is the word, you don't need no stinking radio!

Just got the car back from 10 mil XPEL, window tint and ceramic coating. I had the hood, front bumper, headlights, all front end trim, front fenders, mirrors, a pillar, leading part of the roof, front of rear fenders, and a strip on the bumper below the trunk opening. I did something a little controversial and after seeing a couple test pieces had the entire hood stripe covered in gloss XPEL and I really like it. I also had the calipers coated and my second set of 19x11 wheels coated.

The garage is now full of parts and mods waiting to go on when work slows down. I’ll update this thread as I do them from spare tire addition to taking apart the suspension.

Got a little bit of time today during our maintenance outage at work (just 3 more weeks of long hours) and did some first basic add-ons.

Installed:

Ford GT500 spoiler w/Gurney flap
  • Heat gun and 20# fishing line to remove
  • heat gun and fingers to remove double sided tape
  • Denatured alcohol to remove adhesive residue
  • Polished with 3D one
  • Final wipe down with denatured alcohol x3, heated with heat gun and installed
  • Will polish spoiler and gurney flap tomrrow and coat w/Gtechniq CSL
Spare tire and jack kit
  • easy install, used microfibers to deaden any noise from jack
Trunk liner from Husky
  • decent fit-will improve as it heats up, trimmed for subwoofer
Steeda hood strut kit
  • okay, but one hood strut didn't fit well to lower bracket
  • Really could use glue in my opinion on upper part of top mount-does want to rotate with single stud, I torqued lightly after seeing how many broke the stud.
Steeda jacking rails
  • Nice fit
  • removed seam sealer at front both sides to sit flat
  • Comes with 8, new chinese bolts, has you remove 6 OEM bolts
  • I reused OEM bolts with new loctite and used only two of the bolts supplied
Design labs radiator plate
  • Nice, will see how it holds up to scratches and marring
Silcone license plate frame
  • I like it and it won't allow the plate to scratch the paint
