The rubber bump stops unscrew as I recall and a trim removal tool helps with the plastic clips and rivets all over the car. It yes the trunk liner has to be removed for the middle two.
Thanks. Already finished. Just went for it

Actually racing tape the guys who did my alignment and tires. They put it over the weights on track wheels and it’s really an autocross set. At the rate I’m going it may not get to an autocross until next month-the year is winding down fast and my weekends are busy.

Installed a few things this weekend:

1) Handling Package lower splitter with M5 rivnuts and stainless socket head cap screws.

-Take care not to overset the rivnuts in the plastic I did with one of them
-It's removable, but it will take a while to remove and install
-Looks so much better and more balanced visually
-Need to get some pics with the 19x11's installed up front

2) Schroth Quick Fit Pro 4pt harness
-Not bad install, I had to bend and tweak both driver's side brackets to get the right angle and clearance
-Driver's side rear adapter took a good amount of work to tweak and align to ensure it wouldn't load the factory module in pictures, other install pics I saw did'n't have this.
-Driver's side front adapter required a slight tweak and trimming of the sail panel plastic-4 iterations before I got it right
-Note: this will be used for autocross

3) Pioneer Subwoofer TS-A100D4
-Easy install, depinned harness, removed trim ring with zero damage, modified subwoofer to fit stock enclosure, added 6-8 oz poly fill to box,
-GREAT improvement in sound quality at all volumes

Bonus pics of my rescue dachshund, Penny coming to help on the harness install.

Attended the Track Attack yesterday with little time to spare before eligibility ends at the end of this month. It’s very basic and the instructors try to cram a lot into one day starting with people that have never even autocrossed. Myself and one other guy thankfully got put into the fastest group with an instructor and were able to push the cars harder than I anticipated, but I was still slowed way down by the instructor.

The staff is great and was very accommodating to my 75 year old father (he has spinal stenosis and uses a walker). They took him for some hot laps and he had a blast. I cannot say enough how great the staff is from a human perspective in giving my dad this memory. He’s ridden along on auto crosses, but never been on a road course with me.

Awesome! How cool to drive the same color car as yours. What surprised me was how much I liked the car in black, but I’m glad I don’t have to maintain one. It also finally dawned on me why there were no FJG cars while I was there: why would FPRS want 700A cars.

I attended my first autocross in a LONG time (15 years) with the car this past Sunday. I was off pace by 2 sec but considering how long it’s been I’m happy. It was below 50 degrees with brand new RT-660’s and they felt really loose. Hopefully next time they’ll grip better being warm and broken in, but my driving didn’t help matters. I’m going to attend an autocross driving school next month and try to get back into the groove.

Very sweet. RT660s benefit greatly from a full heat cycling. They get much stickier after they’ve been warmed and cooled a few times. They are a really good track tire, never used them for auto x.

I know the 660s are the “better” tire…almost every objective test says so, but I much prefer the RT 615K+. To me, they seem stickier once heat cycled, and a little more predictable at the limit. (And a tiny bit cheaper too.)

Something about Mustangs with race numbers….so sweet.

Local SCCA region driving school last weekend. First time with hood weather to get the 305’s warm enough to see what the car can do! I got 24 or so runs in and the car is great. I really think more people should drive these cars before throwing on parts or entire packages from vendors that have good branding and marketing. Granted I have a few upgrades but they’re small and it’s mostly HP package in terms of springs and sway bars. I’m glad I had restraint to start with HP springs and sway bars while the car was apart. Oh and for anyone that hasn’t be sure to drive these cars in track mode with AdvanceTrac turned off-it’s way too intrusive even in track mode to use and be fast. I remember the dirty looks I got and lecture when I asked to turn AdvanceTrac off at the Mach 1 track attack. I do understand why they wanted it on given the nature of the school. The only reason I found to keep it on is with 200TW tires at 42 degrees…. but I shouldn’t have been on those tires anyways.

The build thread isn’t dead, I just took time to drive the car and enjoy it. I finally gave in this morning and ordered Steeda Dual Rate springs. These will be going on along with the Steeda competition front and rear sway bar kit with the adjustable softer rear bar. I should’ve installed these instead of HP springs. Hopefully this will fix how incredibly soft the HP suspension is to something that better fits the car and my preferences. FRPP rear toe link bearings will go in at the same time.

This might not be your "cup of tea" yet but these coil-over spring set-ups are more cost effective, in the long run, and easy to change ride height and spring poundage. I have a front and rear set up. If you do a lot of track work you'll eventually want something substantially stiffer that what many of the big retailers offer. These are the only two companies I know selling these kits. Both are high quality and reputable.
Have fun installing those toe link bearings, they are a bit challenging.

Looks like Steeda has one too.

All this work...why didn't you just order the HP when you bought it or buy one with HP? I mean, it's great that you get to have some fun with it, just wondering.
