But I heard anything above 70% is good for e85r?
Just watch the STFT on the Ngauge/SCT. It'll tell yah right away. If it's trimming > 5%, it's too lean for the R tune.

I've got a flex tune and the way I do it is drive 3 or 4 miles then do a KAM reset. Yes it is kind of a PIA but I have the peace of mind to know the car has learned the current tank's alcohol %

These cars really do need a return fuel system.

Ok I’ll monitor that, thanks for the tip

KAM reset huh, maybe I’ll try that next time instead of disconnecting my battery

I asked Lund - they said don't drop below 80% on the E-85 tune. Think I might flash my Flex tune and check what the E% reads on the Ngauge, been awhile since I checked it.

The nGuage inferrs A%. The only way to know is to measure.

On the tuning forums the spark is supposed to be the same from E60 to E85. I don't know this as fact, but is what is said.
If a tuner sets the borderline and MBT tables the same, I would run away.

A lot depends on the ethanol content of the e85 and your regular gas as well. Did my first fill up of e85 yesterday and loaded my flex tune before I left the house because I didn't want to do it in at the pump. My 93 octane read 12% and the e85 I got tested as 90%. After fill up when my car learned, it locked it as 82.4%. I had 7 miles to empty when I filled up.

I brought 2 5 gal VP jugs with me so I don't have to go back as often. The car is gonna be filled with 93 over the winter while she sleeps. In the spring I am going to fill up a barrel at the station and bring it home so I do not have to go as often as the closest station to me is about 40 mins away.

Flashed the Flex tune and checked the alch_pct - it's spot on. Not sure why my previous readings were always low compared to bottle tests, even after a KAM reset. I'm just happy it's now displaying a reasonable result.

The problem I have with the test bottle I bought from Amazon is that it can't easily be filled at the pump. I use a plastic baby bottle with a wide mouth and fill that at the pump and then transfer to the test bottle. It's a PITA.

I'm thinking mine may be a little low. Its reading about 77. I tested it to about 80-82.5. I did just flash my e85r tune. So excited to see how it goes!

What do you you guys use to monitor to ensure you aren't running lean? I'm watching stft. I think someone mentioned to not let it get above +5%

I like the fact Lund didn't scale the AFR gauge.

85% corn and it reads 14.8 AFR

Make sure your long terms are 0 or close to that. STFT's will bounce around.
