Having a hard time debating between getting a CAI and tuner package from somewhere like americanmuscle.com or if I should get a flex-fuel tune from lund.
I have a 2015 Mustang GT. The only mods are an mbrp cat-back exhaust.
I can get a JLT intake and a BAMA tune for about $750. American Muscle claims about a 30whp peak gain and more in the mid-range.
Or I could get a Lund Flex Tune and tune device for $950. Couldn't find dyno numbers but I assume it should be the same.
I live in Mesa Arizona (near Pheonix) and as such, I only get 91 octane (and shitty quality so I've heard). I have an e85 place about 8 miles away from my house, I don't go out there often but I could try to swing by every once and awhile, probably not possible to always fill up there. I have an e55 place right next to my work tho that would work great as long as I remember to fill up.
My goal with the car is to get a little more hp and response from the car. I don't want to spend thousands for a N/A build when I could save and spend thousands on an FI build. So I'm looking for a cheap way to get power while I save for possible FI.
My first car so I am hoping to get some feedback on others who have been in a similar situation and what they decided to do. Or maybe I should be considering something else (cheaper flex-fuel tunes or a specific cai and tune for example)?
