Im looking at buying specifically a gen 2 coyote with the mt-82. I've always been weary of buying the first year of a total redesign. Any reason i should try to stay away from a 2015? Like early redesign issues or anything, and just look at 2016 and 2017? Or are the 2015s good to go?

I’d stick with 16-17.

The gen 2 and mt82 are very very similar to the 11-14s, not much change so even a first year car is not going to have many issues compared to other true first year cars. The Coyote platform is already 3-4 years old by that point.

I should have specified I am looking at buying the whole car not just the drivetrain. And 100% stock if possible

I have a 2015 car and have had it since 2015. I haven't had any issues with mine other than a rear main seal leak almost 2 years ago and a cracked diff bushing. I'm not aware of any issue that pertains only to the 2015 model year. The engine and trans themselves are solid.

There are some issues to keep an eye on such as body panel alignment(all 15-17 and even some newer models) leaking axle seals (all), ac evaporator core issues (seems to be most years, maybe it's been less of a problem past couple years), potential drive line vibration (all years), cracked rear diff bushings (all - I suggest taking preventative measures), cmcv shaft breakage in manifold (15-17).

Not an extensive list I'm sure, but the most common I've heard of through the years. And none that only affect 2015 cars.

The 2015s had an A/C issue. It would need the dash removed to fix it. Mine failed at 9k miles. I believe there was a TSB issued.

I had replaced under warranty: AC evaporator core, water pump, ABS sensors, and wheel bearings. No problems with any of the aforementioned since. Paint is not so great/corroded/missing at the leading edge of the hood and sides of the rear windscreen. Car has never been washed other than by my own hand so that is a Ford issue IMO at 8 years/48k miles
