I have a 6 spd with the 3.31. Personally I think the 3.73 would be too short for a dd but looking back I would have went with 3.55.
I love my 3.73 so far. I also really like the comfort in premium model, seats, stereo etc. I think they are worth it.

Yeah I do like the center gauges, but I'm sure like you stated with the wheels, the Brembos add a bit of cost when it comes time to replace.

From the outside not having driven one, the PP GT sounds like stupid fun. Just not sure how much chance i have with traction in rain let alone snow with them.

How's the ride with the PP, is it harsh?
I have yet to drive mine in the snow, but in the rain traction isn't a problem. The car does a fantastic job with the traction control and stability control as long as you aren't flooring it out of the corners when its wet. I personally like the ride of the PP car, it is stiffer than the no PP for sure, but it isn't harsh to me.

For the money I think a Base GT w/ PP is the best bang for your buck. You can find one if you look hard enough for 32-30k. My personal opinion is a Mustang does not need luxury options such as leather, heated/cooled seats, ambient lighting, sensors, etc unless you do a lot of driving in it. If you really want leather you can get take offs really cheap ($300-$400) or something like Katzkin ($700ish) which offers some really nice options for a cheap cost.

If I could do it all over again, I would have still gotten the performance pack, but added in the premium package as well. There are subtle little things that make it nicer than the obvious. I learned that the base bumper is one piece instead of 2, and to make it look nice I need to paint it, or spend a sh*t ton of money replacing it all.

I guess I'm the opposite and like the base bumper better than the premium. At least in white I do. Only time I've considered finding a premium is for quad valance which would be nice.

I'd recommend waiting for the "refreshed" 2018 design to be released before buying a 2017 at this point.

If you love the new 2018 changes and refresh....you'll be happy. If the changes are not that impressive to you, then you'll be able to find a great price on a 2017 when the 2018's start showing up on the dealer lots this summer.

If i can hold off that long, I should be able to put a away a bit more $$, but if the right car now pops up, it will be tempting.

No one is really giving more than what I call typical discounts and don't seem to be budging too much. Might see if I can squeeze in a test drive too while I see what happens. Just don't want to get stuck into some high pressure situation once there.

Have you looked for new 2016's? There's still a few out there and I'm sure you could get a really good deal on one. I believe they are still offering 0% for 72 months? I bought a 2016 in August and received 0% for 60 months, as well as a $1000 blue tag rebate. There's not much difference between the 16' and 17', and the 16' has the in vent turn signals which I like. It might be tough to find a PP one, but I've seen a bunch of base and premium 16' models in both manual and auto still for sale.

I ordered a premium 400A with 3:55's, manual trans. No regrets and if I had to replace it, I would do it all over again.

Anyone think the 401A package is worth it?
I do, the sound system is nice, but the BLIS and cross traffic alert are awesome. I've never had it before and don't know how I lived without it. I had no idea it has cross traffic alert until backing out of a spot one day when it started beeping like crazy. Having BLIS is great on the highways as well.

Had two close calls were I thought I found a good deal. The first was a 2016 with black accent package, 3:55 gear, reverse sensing, and spare tire for $31,600. It showed up as a Ruby Red in my search but turned out to be a different color :frusty:

Next was a 2017 ruby red with manual but they backed out of the deal because I didn't qualify for the trade offer.

So still searching for ruby red which are not left in our area in 2016. Actually very few 2016 at all...

Had I known at the time I bought my Base GT that you had to go through so many loops and $$$ to get quad tips, I would have gotten the Premium instead.

All of the cars on the lots when I was shopping had black interiors. It causes the whole interior to be extra hot in the summer, if there was one thing I would like to have changed it would have been to get a lighter color.

Very nice safety features.

BLIS and Cross Traffic Alert should be standard equipment on all Mustangs. All cars for that matter.

I know the 2014 Mazda 6 Touring ($24k new) has both standard.

After buying a tan interior car in the past (not a Mustang). I'll now always go with a dark interior if I have a choice as the lighter interiors are harder to keep looking clean. Plus a dark interior looks sportier.
