Been out of Mustangs for awhile and looking at a 2020 GT premium with dual mode exhaust, 3:55 gear, automatic, and 19" wheels. What's your thoughts on performance and overall experience.
Thanks.

Except for a lack of low end torque, performance is excellent and handling is very good for a fairly large and heavy car. Acceleration is much greater than it seems because of the power curve at higher rpms. You are approaching 3 digit speeds and it doesn't feel like it at all. The 10 speed auto is a very good transmission with lots of modes to keep you entertained. I suggest sport mode as your normal driving mode. The base mode is for grandmas.... but does give excellent gas mileage.

I think there is 45,000 users and 2 million posts that gravitate around liking the car. Perhaps you can narrow down what you're after and do a search for the likely several dozen threads that have long since answered it?

300ft/lbs between 2500 and 3000RPM isn't what I would call "lack of low end torque", personally. But it definitely doesn't feel as sprightly compared to when you hit 4K.

Overall these cars with the auto and 3.55's are beasts. High 11 second cars bone stock with some decent tires.

Hate to answer a question with a question but what are your thoughts. I presume you’ve test driven one. I agree with shogun32 (and that doesn’t happen often :giggle: ) asking us isn’t going to help much. We buy our cars exactly for the reasons you’ve asked about.

So what are you driving now? What else are you considering? How are you going to use it? Do you plan on modding the car.

One last thing. can we also presume that the car has the Performance Pack 1? Big difference in the car with and without it.

Depends on what you want the car to be.

I'd say you'd be remiss if you don't get PP1, Magneride, and Active Exhaust. Those options make the car amazing dynamically. Incredible.
