Been talking to this dealer about their 18 GT with 17k miles. Carfax shows that it was a rental car in GA. Price is 26k. Car looks clean but can only imagine how hard that car has been driven.

Anyone had luck or no of someone who bought rental. I'm guessing I should stear clear. I'm not even in the area to drive it but figured I'd inquire. Still has 19 months left on warranty.

I rented a GT back in 2015. That car must have been driven hard before me. It had 5000 miles on it and the rear was already humming. I would steer clear. guaranteed that car is in someone's Instagram doing donuts.

Haha. That's exactly what I was thinking. For another 6k, I can get a brand new 19.

Do the new one.

When I think of all the things I have done in rental cars, not all of it intentional, .....

Carfax said mine was a fleet vehicle. It was not - it was a repo from a guy whose home address I have from the paperwork.

I know how I treat a rental...so I would say don't walk away from it, but run away from it.

I hardly ever need a rental car, and I'm pretty easy on them when I do. But d*mn, I've seen some friends of mine drive a rental like they were filming an episode of Dukes of Hazzard.

I’m always paranoid of damaging one, so I tend to drive them easier than my own.

I have rented an ecoboost mustang before and didn't really drive it any differently than my own cars. Random spirited run from time to time. Not an all out flogging though.

And the car in question for all of the 17k miles on it, happened in a short 7 months.

Looks like a dealer in Texas tried selling it and had no luck so they sent to auction and now dealer in Texas trying to sell.
