I was asking if the 22 also has the tiny carbon trap the previous years had, as well as this bigger filter.I was under the impression that photo WAS a 22. Huh?
What about the vapor recovery system with leak detector?pcv valves and cats on new cars.
https://www.basf.com/us/en/media/news-releases/2014/01/p-13-477.htmlWhere did you hear that. As an ASE tech there should be no evap vapors flowing through the intake tube when the vehicle is off. The purge valve should stay closed when off and at idle. The vent valve near the charcoal canister does open when the vehicle is off to allow for pressure changes. It has a filter built into it to trap vapor so that your garage doesn't smell like gas.
not. What about the vapor recovery system with leak detector?
Reasonable or not ?
This charcoal filter seems to be just an extension of it and I don’t understand how it could reduce hp… do the intake air has to go through it on its way to the tb ?
or DEF or gas guzzler tax or....Honestly if not for the emissions rules we wouldn’t have gdi, vvt, the 10r80, and turbochargers on most cars. These were chiefly done for fuel economy.
But if you want to see ridiculous go look at the requirements for marine fuel hose and the primer bulb…
So wait, clearly I’m confused. I’d like to blame it on anesthesia hang over from major surgery earlier this week but to be truthful I haven’t ever looked into the air cleaner box yet on either of my cars. I thought this pic was the actual stock ‘22 air filter element itself and all I had to do was to replace it with a K&N or whatever. But then I notice the poster has that sitting on top of what looks to be a stock paper element. With the HP being down for 22. I've discovered one change that can hinder power.
I've heard a change in Cats and carbon filter in the intake. I've discovered said filter.
Yeah I’d be on the lookout for an 18-20 air boxWith the HP being down for 22. I've discovered one change that can hinder power.

Lid?Yeah I’d be on the lookout for an 18-20 air box
No the complete air box and lidLid?
I'd just cut that charcoal filter out.
What is wrong with the air box? Cutting out that filter will make the lid the same as a 19.No the complete air box and lid
So our Mach 1s lost 10 hp as well. We seal to the hood. Gotta be something in the fuel and timing as well or they did change the cats as others have alluded to.wonder if there s something different in the tune also to go along with the restricted box?
