How large was your 9psi Turbo? Cos most of these tunes (shit, even the stock calibration) are running at least twice that and running 310 bhp from the get-go. Not sure what your engines are made out of but I'm pretty sure an intercooler helps engine life and performance considerably.
Back in the 80s Mopar used Garrett T3 turbos on the 2.2s. The 300 HP kit came with a different trim T3 hence the "Super 60" name of the kit. The 300HP was obtained without an intercooler at 14 psi. The factory started adding intercoolers when they started pushing the boost to 14 psi from the factory.

I only mentioned that they didn't have intercoolers because my daily driver Ecoboost Mustang spends 90% of its time below 10 psi and for that reason i see no need to upgrade the intercooler at this time.

BTW, that non-intercooled 2.2 turbo with a tune that gave it a 12 psi over boost was still running strong at 240,000 miles when my son totaled it. Also, that same turbo 2.2 in the lighter Omni and Charger bodies were super easy to get into the 10s in the 1/4. You could do it for less than a $1000 investment.

DI cars are tuned leaner than those older turbo cars. Charge temps are a much bigger issue with our motors, timing will be pulled very quickly and you lose power.

Also, you weren't going 10's in an omni with a $1000 investment. It took a lot of boost or a lot of nitrous and the build to support it. That super 60 kit you're talking about was basically bolt-on suicide for the motor.

Anyway, back to the original topic.

I'll be waiting for this and see how it plays out. I'm not looking for a huge jump in power like you would see with a pro tune. If this kit offers about 30HP and maybe 50-60TQ for a decent price I think it would be worth it.

  • Peak gains of 30hp and 70lbs/ft at ~5500rpm
  • 40hp and 60lbs/ft average gain from 2500-5000rpm
  • 75hp and 64lbs/ft average gain from 5500-6800rpm
  • 100hp maximum gain at ~6000rpm

That's a lot more power up top which is what it needs. A 350-400HP eco at the crank is deadly and I would gladly pay 700-1000 for it. Dealer installed? Is that 2 hours of labor?

Hahaha. Ask Gary Donovan if it costs $1000 to go 10's.

100 hp (max) gain at 6,000 rpms? Wow. I want to see someone dyno this tune. $700, including the GT350 CAI, isn't a bad deal at all.

This car isn't really torque starved imo. The HP on the top end is the huge issue. Ford Performance knew that and if they can achieve the claimed numbers that's a huge jump.

So who's gonna be the guinea pig for this? I'd love to see how it compares to my LMS tune. :headbonk:

Holy hell THATS a great deal. And $700 WITH a warranty??

Sounds like I found my Christmas present.

Significantly reduced warranty, but that is better than voiding it.
I have to admit that I want one too.
Those gains plus an intercooler should turn a "quick" car into one that's flat out fast.

Does look pretty good but I would never install this pack without an intercooler upgrade first down here in Florida.

So perf pack $700 + $200 labor, intercooler $550 + $200 labor = about $1,600 for me, not sure I can swing that right now. :frusty:

Is that the same CAI that is the same design as the 350?

I like the average of 40 HP and 60 tq through the powerband. Seriously though, someone needs to buy this kit and dyno it.
