Jacking rails, Are they all equal

As far as quality, and fit I.E. bolt on part that bolts on.
Any Alum ones or all they all steel?

Given the relatively small tube and thin wall size I wouldn't want what I've installed on my 2019 GT350 to be aluminum. Conceptually, if the same jacking rails were cast instead in rolled sheet then it might be appropriate to use aluminum for increased lateral rigidity.

If you have access to a bench drill they are easy to make - I made mine from stainless

I made my own from square alum. tubing. used 1.5 inch, worked good on testing haven't needed since. in hind sight could have used 1.25. I had to find a small enough jack to fit under with flat fyi for those making their own the hole at the front on driver side don't line up the same as passenger side.

Thread resurrection! I bought some Steeda jacking rails and I have a question that seems unanswered by any videos or instructions I've found: What exactly are those bolts we're loosening to install the rails? In the videos and such, they don't look like they go to *anything*...

Why would Ford build a threaded hole with a big bolt that does nothing?
