Jacking rail advice

don t over think it. I ve had them on both my mustangs. I think I got the shorts? Doesn t matter. Great for lifting and spots for jack stands etc etc.... I d get the cheapest pair (even used). Simple to install. If you don t use them much, so what, they are unseen and always there.

I wish I could remember for sure. Not Steeda though. I'm almost certain I went with the BMR ones.
I'm not really sure how much brand matters. After all they are just some squareish steel tube with holes in the end. I remember reading at the time of several people who just made their own. I doubt you'll be disappointed whichever you choose.

I went with the BMR CJR760 shorter rails. They come with a nice painted finish and still look like the day I put them on. As others have said, if for nothing else, it's nice to be able to pull two wheels at a time.

Whoever ordered my car new was not. They cheaped out on the option, added it myself!

a lot of models with larger brakes don t have a Ford OEM spare option at all, thats why they get the flat fix kits with pump (useless). Many of us have aftermarket spare tires that fit Brembos.

Mine have been on since shortly after I bought the car so approaching 6 years now. I like being able to but the jack basically anywhere and lifting the whole side. You can lift the whole side without them but the jack has to go higher.
I found that I like the factory scissor jack enough that I bought a second one and use it with a 3/8" impact. It's small, light and fast. I very seldom get my floor jack out anymore. I haven't had a single incident where it has not been stable. I haven't had to use it in the "wild" for this car yet so a less stable base might be an issue but that can be said without jacking rails too.

Edit: I have a convertible with the factory spare. I don't remember the brand I bought but options were limited for the vert. Living in the south the finish is still almost like new.

I just want to say be careful when using an impact on a factory scissors jack. That was how I was lifting my car up on all fours when I leave it for the summer and two of them stripped out the threads. One locked up and one collapsed. I kept the threads greased and it still happened. Maybe they are not meant to be used multiple times, or maybe the impact is just too much for it, I don't know.

I am very satisfied with the Steeda jacking rails on my 18 vert. I mainly use a floor jack or my quick jack, to lift and they are very convenient for this. One big plus I found is they protect the pinch welds/underbody/exhaust etc., when you encounter a high arch over driveway or speed bump. They will drag first, make an awful noise when it happens, but no damage anywhere else.

Nice added benefit indeed. I would much rather drag a bolt on then a rocker panel

Up in arms about what set to choose for my ‘16 non vert….what are the pros/cons of each? Shouldn’t be this hard for me to decide, but hell. FWIW, i DO have the factory spare kit. Any and all advice wrkcome, thanks all!

I have the BMR low profile rails, and love them. I jack the car up on them and lower it on to jack stands in the pinch weld.

Definitely leaning towards these, i’m going to have to try to source a supplier later when i get home (unless someone has a link of course! )
