You can use the "Read PID Data" function to monitor any of the modules and their functions in real time. There's a video out there about how to use it. Works very well.

Be aware that the more items you select and move over to live monitor, the slower the refresh rate, so I suggest staying with just what you're working with.

I dont think you can change anything in "Read PID Data", so its pretty safe to play around with. Great troubleshooting tool.

Here's the video.

I don't have the DDM or PDM modules showing up. Do I need a different cable? I've got the one listed on forscan's website.

The door ajar switch is working, it is in the bcm but nothing for door module exists and I cannot find anything for window drop. I tried everything window or door related. Another issue is it will not go up to the top any more, it stays in the open door condition.

Everything else works fine, door locks touch unlock window will go down and up just not to the top, lacks the 1/4 inch. Passenger side works perfectly. I tested the PID's against the passenger door and none of them trigger with either door except the door ajar, which works on both sides.

As far as I know you have the correct OBD cable with the OBD Link EX, I wish I could be more help with Forscan. I believe you already stated you tried the window reset procedure and it did not work. 🤷‍♂️

What a PITA totally aggravating issue.

When all else fails disconnect battery for a min.

Unplug localised connections, inspect wiring, blow out (aerosol, or compressor) apply dialectic grease. Maybe some water got in there.

Last resort...trade it in.

Thats the most preferred cable.

In the 2021 schematics, the Door Window Regulator Motor has a Door Ajar circuit in it, so that has to be for the 1/4" drop. I realize you already know that, several others have pointed it out and you've messed with it to no end, but that may be all there is to it. Might not be something you can even see in Forscan.

The door ajar switch is part of the door latch assy not in the window motor.

Ah, gotcha. So the Ajar in the regulator motor is just the motor function for the 1/4". Switch in the latch motor.

I see the switches now on a sep diagram. Looks like the switch is connected to both the BCM and the DDM, tees off to the window motor. Maybe the OP can do the Read PID Data in the BCM for the Ajar function.

Yea the ajar switch is just a grounding switch that is either closed to ground with door closed or open with door open, that signal is then sent to the window regulator motor/DDM/PDM and the BCM, the BCM then determines what action is required by the window motor/DDM/PDM.

OP has already tested the ajar switches in forscan and found to be operational, just can't confirm signal is being received by DDM/PDM/BCM in forscan.

Any input is always helpful so please do not take offense at my posts, I was just trying to explain how the system should work in theory.

Yesterday it worked fine. I wish I could read the DDM.

As a follow up for anyone else encountering this, I have had this issue again after a little over 18 months of no problems since I greased it the first time.

I have not replaced any parts, and have just cleaned and re-greased the window connector with more dielectric grease. As of a month later the issue is seemingly resolved.

Not looking forward to this being a yearly thing, but it takes all of 30 minutes at this point. Hardest part is grabbing the window switch panel without scratching it.

I also just had to apply grease to my connector in passenger's door after about a year of no issues because it just never acted up again. It started not going back up when closing the door which required several repeat closings for it to finally go up. So bit the bullet and remove door panel and applied dielectric grease about a week ago and so far, all is good.

The tab on door panel at front lower position pulled half the flimsy tab off when the metal spring clip stayed in the door so now it is barely if at all secure at that location, another of fords better ideas. Why they did not just use the same white plastic pins there that are on every other place on door panel is just stupid.
