No worries... I bought this Shelby for the exhaust note... I was not concerned about engine presentation at a car show, just engine noise as I row the gears. Very pleased... thanks Ford Performance!
My GT was purchased for the same reason [I just stated this in a post several days ago], I drive it ā€˜slow’ enjoying the sound of the rpm recovery and at times some back-pressure…if not for the availability of the 6M I would not own a Mustang !

Not needed. Just personal preference. Removing does make it a little easier to get to the dipstick IMO. Cover will work with a strut brace and it does hide some of the rats nest going on with the Coyote but I took mine off

Mags1…If you want totally unrestricted access to your oil dip stick, remove the sound tube…another Ford dumb idea, My 2c

Did that as well, makes a big difference. I never understood the purpose of the sound tube. Waste of $5 or whatever it cost them to make it

Ford Performance NEVER even gave us lowly GT350 guys an option to look at an engine cover and decide if we liked it... they never gave us one because we apparently were not worthy to decide for ourselves.
They gave us a flat-planed crank and asked that we don't destroy it.
I'm at 50,000+ miles and no BOOM yet..!!!!
i feel your pain...?

I am embarrassed to ask, ā€˜what is the sound tube?’… I thought I knew everything about the vehicle before ordering my GT Premium but this sound tube is all new to me. Thanks.

I'm almost certain Ford out-sourced the design of the "Sound symposer" to this guy:

The Suess-a-phone can be found to the left of the air box.

I have mine in my basement, will try to remember to take a pic when I get home. It’s a long tube that connects to the intake tube and the firewall. There’s a round part in the middle of it, what that particular part does I have no idea.

The sound engineer was Dr Suess

Wow, can’t say I remember seeing that, I will have to check it out.
When you remove it do you plug the two remaining openings?
Yes, there’s a cap that goes over the port on the intake tube and a plug for the hole in the firewall.
